That would be true. Anyone have some D3 merchandise they can sell as collector's items? :D

If they're gonna change the name I would have preferred that do something that makes a little more sense and is reflective of their place in the pecking order like, say, the B-League.

How many clubs are there now in the Pro select/D3 league? Because I think some have gone down to PDL or left the league.

That would make sense if the "A" in A-League stood for a level of play. The "A" in A-League is short for "American".

If I'm not mistaken I think there's 14 teams left.

I'd like to see Marcos due some work to get Pro Select teams across the country. Right now for large parts of the country -- particularly in the Midwest, you are either amateur and play in PDL or you have to be good enough to make an A League team.

If you're a 18 or 19 year old high school graduate who's primary ambition is to play professional soccer, there's not a level below the A League that really provides a year-round training environment. He either has to go to college with all the non-soccer related responsibilities or he has to play PDL 3 to 4 months out of the year and find other opportunities for training AND hold down a job to support himself.

As if the PSL harbors a year-round training environment...

    Well, I guess I shouldn't have said year-round.

But it's gotta be more than the May 15 to Aug 1 that is the PDL.
