Bauza retired I think. I don't know why Fossati was never hired by another Ecuadorian club team. He chose to go back to Uruguay because of personal problems so maybe that's why. I could be mixing him up with someone else though. Miguel Angel Ramirez is probably too expensive now. I don't see him going back to Ecuador anytime soon. Liga has good players. They need to make a change at RB and LB. I think that's one of their weaknesses. Lopez and Cruz are limited players. They struggle against wingers that are fast and physical. Whichever coach that comes in should look to give Daykol Romero and Maiky de la Cruz an opportunity.
Oscar Zambrano may start for Liga in the Copa Sudamericana. This is the kid that went on trial with Ajax. I'll tune in so I can get a better look at the kid.
Yea this is the dream scenario where all our teams either pull miracles or get some serious money and these coaches elevate the level of our league even further. Could you imagine City group acquiring Guayaquil City and giving them some buying power so that they can get a coach like Fossati. Or Universidad Catholica some how pulling a miracle and getting Ramirez in the scenario where he gets sacked in MLS and struggles to find a team or wants to come back to Ecuador or Bauza wanting to come out of retirement and coaching a team like Cuenca. If we were to have all these top coaches in our league at once every game would be insanely entertaining. Zubeldia isnt going back to Ecuador tho. He been rumored to come back to Liga before multiple times. BSC too and was even rumored to couch our national team a few times. It doesnt seem like he wants to come back to Ecuador TBH. Liga has alot of youth right now but Im worried the changes in coach will have them fall on and off. Joseph Espinoza, Sebastian Gonzales, Juan Macias and Oscar Zambrano are gonna be battling each other for playing time. We really shouldnt have signed Scotto. Jefferson Arce, Gustavo Nnachi, Jordan Gaspar, Jean Carlos Quinonez, Nilson Angulo are gonna struggle to get playing time too. Getting Hoyos and letting Rodriguez go wasnt a good move when we needed to get a CB. De La Cruz is going to be leaving in October. Dakyol Romero and Andy Velasco are def players I hope the new coach looks into.
There doesn't seem to be enough minutes to go around. Espinoza should have been loaned out. He's not developing as a player by sitting on the bench. Kevin Minda is a good example of what teams should do in a situation where there's a logjam at certain positions. Gaspar made a mistake in going to Liga. He should get out tbh. Jean Carlos Quiñónez was a good signing imo. He hasn't received playing time but maybe with a new coach he'll get more opportunities. He's fast and explosive. A lot of coaches like player with his profile. He needs playing time to refine his game. One thing that can solve these issues is emulating IDV and having a reserve team play in Serie B. Their young players start off playing for Independiente Juniors for a season or two and then they make the jump to the first team. By that point they've gained good experience and are better prepared to contribute to the senior team. Juan Macias, Mathias Solis, Bazurto, Maiky de la Cruz would be better served by playing in Serie B as opposed to just training with the first team on occasion. They don't have to play Serie B for a full season either. Teams can reassess the development of their players as well as team needs after the primera etapa.
I think I want to see this line up for the rest of the season. XI Falcon Lopez, Corozo, Velasco, Cruz Otriz, Piovi, Zambrano Hoyos, Molina, Alvarado Alternate Heras Romero, Guerra, Romero, Ayala Gonzalez, Espinoza, Macias Angulo, Gaspar, Munoz Next season we need to get rid of Scotto, Zaid Romero, Ayala, Guerra, Caicedo, Kevin Mercado, Gabbarini, Bryan de Jesus, Jefferson Troya,
With a good coach that starting line up can compete. Nilson, Gonzalez, Muñoz, and Macias are good options to come off the bench. Gonzalez and Macias are not ready to be starters imo. Maybe for next season they can take on greater roles. Les falta en lo fisico. I still think BSC is the team to beat. Especially now that they have Celico. They legitimately have two players per position. Look at their results the past couple of games. They've played without Souza and Martinez yet they've still won. Imagine Liga playing without Piovi and Alvarado. Or Emelec playing without Rojas and Arroyo. They'd struggle. Their squad may be weakened once the summer transfer window opens up again. I don't think they hold on to Castillo. I can see Adonis Preciado making the move abroad too. They'll bring someone in tho. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest for then to sign Fidel Martinez or even Anderson Julio.
I hope Gaspar can get some playing time he is very versatile we should be using him as a ST I dont know why we are not. Liga was partnering with Atletico Kin but they are in 4th division right now. The smart move would be to acquire them if possible or expand the partnership with them like IDV and CS Norte America had. Atletico wont be able to follow IDV without some serious help. IDV managed to establish their academies because they had unlimited access to CS Norte America players. Now that they have their own established academies and affiliate team they don't need them anymore which is why I guess we haven't heard from them in recent years. They are also in 4th division if I am not wrong. If Liga acquires Atletico Kin it could put Liga youth academies on IDV level.
BSC is gonna be the most competitive team this season. It amazing that even with debt they can still make so many smart moves. Interested to see how long Celico will stay with them and what he can do in a big team with buying power and a good youth system.
Man we pulled a miracle I didn't think we would be able to ever get Zubeldia again. He gave that vibe that he really didn't want to come back to Ecuador and only had interest in bigger higher paying leagues. I guess the U Catolica and Boca rumors were a lie and that he didn't really have many offers atm. Zubeldia wants Juan Luis Anangono and a CAM. Juan Luis just got injured in Guatemala and is getting up there with age. I would like us to look into Santiago Giordana. Him or Molina with a good CAM behind them would be great. We need 2 good CB Guerra, Romero, Caicedo, Corozo aren't cutting it. Honestly, Ricardo Ade and Gerardo Gordillo would probably make a better defensive duo than Guerra and Romero. We need a consistent duo in the team we keep rotating them and no one is convincing in the starting position really. A lot of people were asking Mendez to stay he seemed promising he had the right mentality a lot of people were comparing his style to Fossati. I hope he finds a team that can give him the chance and that people don't blame him for that loss vs Orense. Like Fossati, he exposed himself in defense and our defense is pretty poor and a lot of these smaller teams are becoming more competitive. The coaches in this league really have their work cut out for them.
I hope Mendez gets an opportunity to coach. He'll have to start out with a smaller team with a smaller budget and less resources.
He was a brilliant player, and I'm sure his vision can help him get over the hump to become a great coach. I'm confident of his abilities to take a team to greatness, and his time will come with Liga - hopefully when the team has more resources, a solidified squad, and less institutional strife. If he assumes the helm, it would be fair to let him start with a full offseason to plan and prepare a squad to his standards and vision...as it stands, anyone who assumes the helm at Liga will always be fighting with one hand tied behind their back.
This for next season would be amazing. Falcon Klebinho, Ferigra, Piovi, Cortez Otriz, Piovi, Zambrano Hoyos, Molina, Alvarado Alternate Heras Lopez, Corozo, Velasco, Cruz Gonzalez, Espinoza, Macias Angulo, Gaspar, Munoz
Something tells me Zambrano will leave in the summer. Just a hunch. I don't think Gaspar will stick around. He'll probably look to leave in the summer.
https://www.futbolecuador.com/site/...a-un-equipo-casi-completo-de-juveniles/145009 Liga has some interesting young players. I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll progress with Zubeldia.
It a shame we arent using him. There are no local league st that are interesting. Maybe we can bring in Mike Cevallos. If we loose Zambrano, Scotto, and Joseph because Zubeldia doesnt want him I still think Sergio Quintero and Jefferson Orejuela would be good signing too.
Cevallos is staying in Europe. He's scored 14 goals so far this season. Goals are hard to come by so he'll get offers from European teams. Anangono is a possibility for Liga. Fidel Martinez is probably signing with BSC. Maybe Marlon De Jesus returns from Saudi Arabia. No other Ecuadorian striker comes to mind. I'm surprised Orejuela hasn't been signed by a mid table Liga Pro team. He's not the player he was in 2019 but I think he can still contribute. I hope Sergio Quintero learned his lesson. Dude is a machine. With proper focus and the right mindset he could be a good player.
📍Este es el promedio de edad de los futbolistas profesionales, de las últimas tres temporadas en la LigaPro Betcris🔥- En los campeonatos 2020, 2021 y 2022 se puede apreciar que los jugadores jóvenes han ganado protagonismo en el torneo y que los clubes apuestan por ellos⚽️🇪🇨 pic.twitter.com/ufoJkz64uF— LigaPro (@LigaProEC) April 28, 2022 IDV gets a lot of credit for their youth development program but other teams have interesting projects as well - Liga, Aucas, UC. Liga has some interesting young players in their system. It would cost money but they should look to emulate what idv did with Independiente jrs. I personally think Ecuador's second division should be expanded and the format of segunda categoria should be played in a season format. Liga has some players that would be well served from playing professional ball. Someone like Macias is not ready to play in Liga Pro but it would serve his development well if he played serie b. UC did something similar where they partnered with a segunda categoria side last season. Santiago zamora played and those minutes served him well.
Its safe to say every Liga pro team has at least 2 players that came out of IDV youth system. They started that whole movement in our league and fueled our NT. Aucas and UC are starting to export more and more players it interesting to see them send player to Portugal and Brazil their players are going off early tho so you dont always see it but they are making moves. I would like to see Liga, BSC, CSE and Deportivo Cuenca/ Gualaceo expand their youth systems. Cuenca/Gualaceo have always teamed up together and have a good amount of youth players traded back and forth it nice to see them both in Seria A. LDU Cuenca, Club Deportivo Gloria, Club Deportivo Estudiantes, Club Social Deportivo Tecni Club, Club Deportivo Estrella Roja are some of the other Azuay teams ive seen partnered up with Cuenca and Gualaceo. If they can get their financial issue down I think we could see some interesting players come from Azuay. Delfin, Manta and LDU Portoviejo too. Club Deportivo La Paz, Atl. Portoviejo, Colon, and Grecia are some interesting Segunda Categoria sides too. There alot of potential all around all these provinces can be potential farms for talent.
Nilson Angulo gets a lot of criticism on social media but he has a lot of potential. He's struggled at times this season but that's not uncommon with young players. I think he plays best when he operates behind the center forward. He has more freedom to play on either wing or operate more centrally. I also saw him drop deep to receive the ball so Liga can progress the ball forward. Marini's tenure wasn't the best but he gave Nilson and other young players an opportunity. He'll make the move to el exterior in the future. Holland would be a good league for him. Austria too but our guys don't get offers from there.
Player I would hope to get in segunda etapa. Klebinho\ Anthony Landazuri Gustavo Cortez Erick Ferigra Gonzalo Piovi\Yonathan Rak Sergio Quintero\Jefferson Orejuella Mike Cevallos\Jose Lugo Saw Jose Lugo in Copa Ecuador when he was in Alianza de Guano he is in IDV Juniors now. Dude look like he could kill it in a Seria A team and is only 29 y/o. Strikers like him look like late bloomers I think he could be an interesting option to gamble with. Really cant think of another striker I would go for. Marlon seems to difficult to pull from Saudi Arabia and a 34 y/o Anangono wont bring much to the table. Im sure our 2nd and 3rd divisions have some gems.
Guerrero scored in his first official match for Liga against Ñublense - away match for the CSudamericana. Hopefully we can get him to finish more in a similar manner and it makes our guys loosen up a bit. We've had issues finishing, and it's no secret. With the new signings, maybe we come back swinging for the last half of the tournament + CSudamericana. They all looked a bit stiff and out of rhythm- clearly due to the pause in the LigaPro.
If he stays healthy he’ll score goals. Ángulo wouldn’t have scored on that cross. Age is catching up to Guerrero but the talent is still intact. Liga will have to manage his minutes well. With Lapadula injured the Peruvian NT will be counting on him as well.
Lapadula - Guerrero is a formidable combo. What happened with Angulo? The guy is fizzling before our very eyes...much of it seems to be in his head, too. He can't seem to get out of his own way.
Players we should start looking at for next season. Alex Rangel Alexander Bolanos Oscar Quinonez Erick Pluas Josue Cuero Jhonny Quinonez Jordan Sierra.
