Mamad! Baky with a great cross, and Niang hits it in on the volley. 2-0.

Liverpool-Atletico[Result]Liverpool get a late penalty, which Gerrard converts, to make it a 1-1 draw. That puts both those teams on 8 points.[/Result]

I didnt see this one because I was watching the Bordeaux match. Looks like OM is in good shape to finish 3rd. Its very clear who the 2 best teams in this group are. OM arent good enough but good enough to finish ahead of PSV.

Agreed, though Hatem Ben Arfa would be a starter on any team in this group.

He was pretty good over the weekend against Saint-Etienne. I think we should recognize that Ben Arfa, while he can have fits of selfishness, has been getting better and better. And when he's on, no one can stop him.

None of our attackers can, really. Unless you count Cheyrou, who is a sort of linking midfielder who can attack at times.

By the way, when did Bonnart start attacking so much? I'm not sure I completely like it, just because of how frail the defense is, but it definitely did help get Ziani and others space today.

I wonder how Valbuena feels about not starting. Zenden is a sub and we've established that but I wonder if Valbuena might wanna go somewhere else where he can play more. I read that they are thinking about extending Ziani. I knew they were very high on him.

I think that Valbuena and Gerets are friendly enough that he'll be okay. He knows that he'll definitely get his chances, and he'll start a lot of games. He can play anywhere along that attacking "3" in the 4-2-3-1, which helps him a lot.
