the €107 million they owe in taxes, plus €33 mil in interest, will be paid over a period of 23 years.

 Catfish, are you familiar with the concept of loan consolidation? Ask someone with a lot of student debt, they'll explain it.

right, duck and nicephoras have the answers here.

Basically when lotito took over there were 3 main sources of the debt. They've signed the long term tax repayment deal (interested is only 2.5%).

Fiore and Corradi were given to Valencia to finish off our transfer debt and clear the club to again make euro transfers. The third portion is over 100M euro in unpaid back wages and vendor/supplier debts...

I think one more round of selling (Oddo, Rocchi, Cesar) will happen and the club smartly will focus on youngsters like Makinwa...

Going to round up all transfer speculation into one thread...rumors of players both in and out. With most of the debt accounted for now, there may actually be some additions this summer.

DOH! Actually, no! Go easy on me. I served in the Army for 3 years. Between the Army and the State of Illinois, I went to my university for free.

I am going easy on you. But lets say for argument's sake I have $50,000 in student loans. (Not a personal example - I have more student debt than that. :p) Would I rather pay that off over 30 years or 3? Over 30 years at a reasonable interest rate, its not that bad. Over 3 years that's quite a bit of money per year which I might not have.

I feel you. I should just have looked at like my mortgage. Just didn't know football clubs could do that with their debt.

there was a new law passed in italy in 2002 (i think it was) that would let companies with small shareholders pay back taxes over many years. if their debth was player salaries, they could potentially be playing in serie c1 next season, because then it would be up to the players if they would accept being paid over a longer period.

we can label the first move official. We buy the other half of Rocchi's contract from Empoli for 2.2M Euro.

Giannichedda to Juve on a free seems done and GK Sereni will likely move for a fee....I'd rather keep him and not rely on peruzzi for next season.

Good news on the transfer front?
Lorenzo di Silvestri a Lazio youth player and captain of Italy's U-17 wants to stay at Lazio. :)
Lotito wants Fiore back. :) I really hope that one happens! (Although its unlikely :()

I think Inter will bag Fiore. Mancini is one reason...

Looks like Palermo takes back the Fillipini twins, which is fine by me. They helped us survive this season for sure...and they are tough tacklers who fight for 90 minutes.

Certainly we can do better on the wings...the end of the article mentions creative midfield Zauli....would be a nice bosman signing.
