Surely you don't expect him to say: "The loss of Barrett, Cannon, and Graziani has really hurt this team. We've picked up some decent players, but I expect us to finish in the bottom third of the table. At this point, I'm hoping that we at least make the playoffs, but it'll be a near thing." He's got to be hopeful. And at this point, why not? Our guys haven't played the competition yet, except for Cowlumbus. We've got a couple of young exciting guys, we've got some players that have been improving. Hey, it could work out. Do I think the Quakes are going to make another run at the cup this year? No not really. I mean, Donovan and DeRo could both have monster years and we could destroy all comers, but I don't expect to. I'll be happy as long as the team doesn't suck. Remember 2000? I side I can be proud of will do the trick. GO QUAKES!! - Mark
I didn't characterize him as being perpetually and unrealistically optimistic. I said he was boring. His statements are generic...they're always generic. He doesn't give any detail about anything and that makes it boring. You can be interesting and optimistic at the same time. -KMJvet
Remember the interviews Quinnie used to give? The sky really would be falling around him and yet he'd find a positive way to spin a 5-1 rout and an 8-game losing streak. Fortunately Frank's not that bad, and fortunately the team's playing hasn't given him an opportunity to be.
