Who do you all think will get the last place, Everton or Blackburn.
I think, it'll be Everton by way of Blackburn only managing a draw at Spurs.
    But I am a blue!
    Your thoughts?

Yeah, I think we'll get stuffed by United (don't we always?) but the Masters of Mediocrity will do us a favour and beat Blackburn -> Chelsea beat Liverpool -> kerpow, Scouse, Blueedge and Clanblue get the beers in.

I was watching the higlights a couple of weeks back and they mentioned the Fair Play allocation but I didn't quite catch the explanation. Who gets it and how?

i think that the 'fairest' nation in europe gets allocated a place in the UEFA for its fairest team.

    at the moment, that's England/ M'boro

Doesn't the premiership get four CL spots and three or four UEFA spots? If not, I think it will be a travesty if both Everton and Rovers don't both get a spot. I'm sure they won't, bu it will stink for one of the two teams.

Rovers have had an unbelievable year. Huge wins over Man U and Arsenal. Great midfield play and of course Big Brad.

Everton is really beginning to challenge the status quo and could really start turning things around if they got into Europe and started doing well.

We'll see. My prediction is that Rovers and Everton will both win and Everton goes through. Man Utd will undoubtedly not be at their best, and Spurs will just be Spurs (too much acrimony at the moment in their clubhouse).

Whatever, hopefully my boy Brad will be at Old Trafford next year anyway.

EPL gets 4 CL spots. England (not EPL) get's 3 UEFA spots.

The UEFA spots are determined like this...

    1) EPL 5th place team -- Liverpool or Chelsea.

    2) FA Cup winner. If FA Cup winner is already in, then FA Cup runner up is in. So Southampton gets this spot (regardless of who wins the final).

    3) Worthington Cup Winner. If Worthington Cup winner is already in, then the runnerup. If they're already in, then the spot reverts to the EPL. Liverpool won and ManU was runner up. Liverpool is going to either be in the CL or take the 5th place spot. So this reverts to 6th place in the EPL.

That's why we won't see both Blackburn & Everton in UEFA.

As Scouse pointed out, there are some spots for fair play awards and someone in EPL is getting on of them. I can't remember who it was but I'll take his word that it's Boro.

Boro and Man City are as I'm aware within one yellow card of each other for the fair play entry.

Man City was the one I'd heard earlier in the season about being in the lead for the Fair Play spot. Maybe Boro passed them late in the season.

    I'll check and get back.

Actually this is not correct mate.
The runner up of the Worthington cup does not get the spot-never has.
If the winner of the League cup, or whatever it is called at the time, gains entry to a European competition the spot reverts to the league and the next highest placed team in the table outside the already alloted places gains entry to the UEFA Cup.

    Here's the Fair Play standings...

    Code:
    #	Team....…	Points	Y	DY	R
    1	Southamp	46	39	2	1
    2	Man Utd..	47	44	0	1
    3	Liverpool.	48	43	1	1
    4	Newcastle	50	43	2	1
    5	Middlesbr	50	42	4	0
    6	Charlton..	55	52	0	1
    7	West Brom	58	48	2	2
    8	Man City..	59	45	4	2
    9	Arsenal..	59	51	1	2
    10	Chelsea...	62	59	0	1
    11	Sunderland	62	59	0	1
    12	Everton...	64	45	2	5
    13	Tottenham	65	54	4	1
    14	Blackburn.	65	56	3	1
    15	Fulham....	67	50	1	5
    16	Bolton....	69	62	2	1
    17	Aston Vill	69	59	2	2
    18	Leeds…...	70	66	2	0
    19	West Ham	75	61	1	4
    20	Birmingham	76	66	2	2

    Y = Yellows, DY = Double Yellows, R = Reds.

    Points = Y + 2*DY + 3*R

The first 4 are already in either CL or UEFA by other means. So Boro leads for the Fair Play spot with Charlton or West Brom having a shot of getting it should Boro have a bad day on Sunday.

Sorry -- I knew it was likely to revert this year, but wasn't sure if that was because ManU was already in or because only the winner got it.

Boro would be a decent team to have in it.

    QPR.

I can't believe no-one round here thought of the 4th place division 2 slot as a way in.

    Fools, all of you.
