I hope nutter or double can think of a funnier name but thought I'd get us started on rumors for the Jan transfer window.

MESSI linked with spurs!!! - source someone :D

ok really... here are some rumors

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is exploring the possibility of bringing in France striker Karim Benzema on loan from Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
    Full story: Daily Mail

Redknapp also looks likely to renew his interest in West Ham midfielder Scott Parker who he bid for in the summer.
    Full story: the Sun

Lille's Ivory Coast winger Gervinho has been linked again with a move to Tottenham.
    Full story: imscouting

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has challenged the Spurs board to spend big in January and turn his squad into title winners.
    Full story: Daily Mirror

Also I friend of mine who follows AJAX said the local paper has quoted Suarez that he would like to come to spurs and play for us. I 100% don't believe him but I know he was a target this past summer.

    Fulham wants David Bentley:

    http://www.fansfc.com/story/27015.html

I like it, I think we should go ahead and sell him and bring in a player who can play both RM/RW and forward, in a pinch.

TalkSport says that Redknapp doesn't want Benzema in January:

    http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...–-redknapp-rules-out-move-real-madrid-striker

This article also says that Harry will have to sell a couple of "fringe players" if he wants to bring in a big name (or two). I suspect he's referring to Bentley, Kranjcar, O'Hara, GDS, and possibly Bassong.

The "Irish World" say that Robbie Keane will leave Spurs in January for first team football

    http://www.theirishworld.com/article.asp?SubSection_Id=1&Article_Id=16560

I hope they're right. He's like that chubby girl you keep around as a friend for way too long just in case you get desperate and need a good 'ol drunken otphj (over-the-pants-hand-job) when all your other in form ladies aren't available.

    I'm struggling at the moment...

"Where Robbie Keane might go if anybody wants to buy him."

"We need an Argentinean - Messi to Spurs"

    or

"2 star players and we'll rule the galaxy."

We need to pick up Suarez so that he can viciously bite Nasri.

I believe in Harry getting the right person for us. I mean if he thinks Adebayour can come in and be useful to use then do it. Just it really creates a lot of issues with who will be playing and he will throw a fit. I like Benzema. He can add that player who can score and play on the ball comfortably. God that would be something else. VDV and Benzema and Modric, Bale, Lennon.... All that pace... Not to mention Defoe. My god. With a healthy huddlestone picking out proper passes.... Jesus. Gallas and King or Dawson. That is a really, really good first team right there.

It would be, but we aren't going to get either of them. City will never sell to us (remember the whole Bellamy thing?) and Benzema is getting games at Real now (as evidenced by his starting El Classico).

i hate looking elsewhere when we've already got a player on the books for the job. but you're right - defoe's biting isn't anywhere near vicious enough.

Because our big, tall, beanpole of a forward has knocked down a further 6 or so for our midfielders to scamper onto.

I don't mind Adebayor. His workrate may not be as high as Crouch. But he is a combo of Defoe and Crouch. Pace and aerial ability. But knowing Citeh, they will rather send him to FC United than sell him to us.

His salary structure is way too high...over 150k per week i believe.

No way Levy would bring him in and upset the apple cart.

I absolutely hate Adebayor. It could be disastrous if he's allowed to put on a Spurs shirt. Just disastrous.

I think it's the same case with Gallas when he 1st joined us. As long as a player could help us, I think we should go for it.

On loan with City paying half his wage. If there was any chance of that happening, which is remote, then would be silly not to take him. He's still a very capable player and Harry would get him playing.
