Strange half of football, it's like we are looking at defence first, it's odd seeing us looking so secure at the back and also odd not needing 30 shots at goal before we get one! Still I'll take it if it works! Don't underestimate our ability to 'throw it away' in the second half!
Similar. As an 11 year old in the nascent days of Sky's football coverage, I was invited to my uncle's house to watch the 94 semi-final vs Luton. Only... we were told his satellite dish wasn't working properly. Problem solved - his friend had Sky, and me and my three uncles could go there. He lived near Wembley so we'd get to soak in the atmosphere a little on the way. Imagine my unmitigated ecstasy and exuberant joy when uncle number 2 pulled out 4 tickets for the match just as we approached Wembley Way. Best day of my life at that point!
I have a sneaky wager on for the second half - Alonso and Jorginho to be booked, both teams to score in the match, Pulisic to score. All because Traore is on.
Commentary are making a big thing of the reason for FK but there is no WAY of telling whether there is any contact on on Alonso. Talk of him diving is total bullshit and just anti-Chelsea bias.
It's probably not a good sign for Kepa that they came through on our goal and I actually felt glad he wasn't in goal.
In all honesty I couldn't see where he might have made contact but that's the point. It was almost impossible to see what happened so what's all this 'diving' bullshit.
Fond memories of that day, especially the standing ovation at the end for my idol who had recently joined them. Also made it to the Sheff Wed and Wolves games at the bridge earlier in the run but didnt make it to the tear inducing final. Probably just as well.
I feel like we've done it before on a few occasions albeit with the same sponsor. Helps generates some more summer sales.
Yeah, quite a few times in terms of marketing the next season's new kit. Not usually for as many games as this though! The club changed shirts halfway through 61/62, and 65/66. In 70/71 there was a change home shirt - against teams with white socks we wore both yellow socks AND a yellow-trimmed shirt and shorts. In one game in 73, we wore orange-trimmed kit against Leeds. In both 86/87 and 87/88 we went from no sponsor to a sponsor to a different sponsor/logo.
