There is also a league cup game next week, so the players who are desperate to get a game will get it then. Virgil will likely start since he needs a game. With the 5 subs, it’s also possible to ga e pre planned subs at halftime. For example, Diaz plays first half and Jota plays second half. I just want to see Ben Doak. I actually love that choice. We should have most of the ball, so he should spend most of the game in central midfield. When we lose the ball he could either retreat to right back like Trent, or maybe he will slide inbetween Konate and Virgil. He was originally a centerback by trade. I hope it works. He could be the best alternative to Trent in that hybrid position and it could be his best path into the team this season. It will be fascinating to watch, but I have a feeling all anyone is going to be talking about post match is Ben Doak.
