Here's the usl.com article on the stadium lease approval http://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/815340?referrer_id=2349190
Following the announcement of the franchise, Lashbrook revealed the six potential team names still in the running, including Las Vegas FC, Las Vegas Lights, Las Vegas Action, Viva Vegas, Club Vegas and Las Vegas Silver. Fans can visit the www.VegasProSoccer.com website from now through Monday, Aug. 28 at 11:59 p.m. PT to vote for their favorite team name. 1. Las Vegas Lights 2. Club Vegas 3. Las Vegas Silver ---oh god please none of these-- 4. Las Vegas FC 5. Viva Vegas dead last. Las Vegas Action
So first the Golden Knights and now the Lights? Reminds me of what is consistently ranked as the worst Smiths song of all time...
Club Vegas would be a fresh type of name for MLS. Similar to Club America or Club Tijuana. I know everybody hates "insert city name" - FC.....but I see it as the easiest way to allow fans to organically come up with an unofficial nickname. And I can't be the only person that doesn't say "Hey did you see Toronto EFF-CEE signed so-n-so". I just say Toronto. I get people disliking "Uniteds" and "Citys" but FC is simply abbreviating what the team is, a football/soccer club. Its hardly part of the identity. Just the opinion of an outsider. My teams the Crew and the front office overzealously loves to emphasize the SC, and it's unnecessary so I can sympathize with others opinions.
Las Vegas Lights FC releases logo, hopes it carries local appeal The @lvlightsfc logo is official ⚽️ #LightItUp pic.twitter.com/GRMNcVo9fj— City of Las Vegas (@CityOfLasVegas) October 30, 2017 Apparently the neon signs will be for sale...
The USL is lengthening the regular season to 34 games next year. Every team's prices will probably be going up a bit. $200 would be about $11 or $12 per game depending on whether you get 17 or 18 games. Lots of teams include a bonus game. Just some random googling: Richmond Kickers season tickets are $199.99 for 2018. Fresno's are $240 for Supporter Section. Louisville's start at $12 per game for season tickets. They were $180 last year. Charleston's cheapest are $199 as long as you buy before January 1. Las Vegas seems to be in line with other teams.
http://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/850267?referrer_id=2333971 Didn't realize this: Rotate that sign 90 degrees, and that's the shape of the logo. I am rarely impressed with team logos these days, but these guys nailed it.
My only negative thought, at first look, a couple of days ago was the outside shape of the logo. I thought it looked a little funny. Seeing this, I am now 100% sold that they did it right. Very well thought out and done for the LV Lights.
