I was with La Monumental in the 1st half of the recent Pachuca game. They were very supportive and peaceful that day. There were even some little kids in the barra and they were cool. Yet some of the members looked like they got out of prison that day.
i tend to agree with Hugo, Lapuente, and a couple other with regards to fan violence... dont give it too much importance, you are only promoting it more. the writer has a somewhat skewed view on it. It is clear he is magnifying the few incidents that have occured... his facts are not even straight... 92? cmon... Pachuca didnt have the money to throw around to hire people to form barras.. they couldnt even maintain themsleves in the top flight...and they are bringing in folks from Argentina.... There has been some people who think that Fassi is responsible for that.. I dont like the guy... I think he is a shady bastard...
I think Barras are great. They support the teams well, and do some neat things in the stands. Chanting is one of the coolest. I don't aprove of the violence though, which has not been that bad lately. Pumas's barra is pretty impressive. I just wish Cruz Azul's barra was bigger
just heard on TD that any fan getting physical and hurtig someone will face one year to 7 in prison.... I think thats great just make sure that all the stadiums have cameras that cover every inch of the stadium... I know Jalisco, Victoria, Azteca, Hidalgo have security systems that can pin point a needle...
