Our boy Grant Whal batting in the #2 spot. In what way will going to Europe improve your game?

Thinks there's a more natural competativeness, with training etc. Doesn't think the talent level is all that different. Thinks the day in day out pressure will make him better. "As you've seen before when I'm challenged I preform better."

"I'm going to go with an open midn and hope things go well from there. If they don't then I'll find a way to make myself happy."

When asked if MLS made a serious offer to keep him. "Sure absolutely."

Good luck to Landon. He should play regularly. I read somewhere that he would play 80-90 percent of the time.

Gavidiz claims it was more a decision of what he owed to Leverkusian and wasn't a finacial thing... 'Never really got into a conversation about economics or finances.'

Dylan Hernandez asks the girlfriend/family/sister question. Boring response... I want tears.
Apparently Landon did go over to Germany sometime this year, described it as 'eye opening, didn't realize that it was very important for them.' Says he'll 'play right back if has to.' Just wants to play.

Landon confirms that nothing has changed in regards to his original contract, so whatever that is. I'm sure people know better than I do what it is.

Wants to emphasize that he's going there 'somewhat cautiously.'

Asked if him being gone makes it easier for MLS to move/fold the quakes.

"No I think the team beign successful would be the biggest thing to that... etc etc, blah blah." Neglects to 'send a message' to MLS ownership in regards to keeping the Quakes in San Jose. Hear that Goodsport? He just threw you under the bus!!!

I have *always* been preaching the Landon to Right Back Theory! You people have been questioning me, and now it is proven that Iw as right all along!

MOVE LANDON TO RIGHT BACK NOW!

Watched a Leverkusian game in Germany a couple of weeks ago. Talks about them not playing a traditional German style.

And now comes the "questions in english, answers in spanish" portion of the conference call. Just plain weird.

"Bruce makes his oppinoins clear. I think if you asked him he said to me he definately wanted me to go to Europe somewhere. (However) knows that if i would've genuinely been happier staying then he would've agreed with that."

The travel is a concern to him. For whatever reason he 'doesn't travel well.' Something he's just going to have to get used to. Talking about traveling back for qualifiers etc.

There's a lot of background noise on one of the lines. Where are they in a freaking mall? Sounds like little kids or something, weird.

Motzkin talking about the importance that Landon doing well in WC2002.

"Unquestionably US players get more respect than they used to in Europe. Though in the US when you're on the US National team you're undoubtably going to be playing. In Europe there could be an English kid or whomever that might even been better than you. But when I think that when you ask people in Europe how American soccer is doing now it'll be a landslide that it's much better."

Main concern is getting on the feild. Expects to have to earn that right.

Who's this asking the question? Said, "Paul, you were wrong!"

    Not Gardner?

    Still daiting that chick Bianca..

    Questions are getting fairly boring.

It was some guy from the San Bernadino paper, which is I guess the local paper for his hometown of Redlands.

Gavidiz just said, "I think this off season you're going to see some interestign moves, with US players coming back/into the league."
