Making HISTORY to get to the round of 16 in such dramatic fashion gets a replacing of the statue of liberty in my eyes!
In this situation, yes At the very least someone creative needs to make a song about this goal so it can be sung at American games until the end of time...any ideas?

Landon was anointed our savior a looooong time ago... 97? 98? It has finally happened. I couldn't be happier for him
How much does this increase his sell price for MLS? I'd love to hear what David Moyes at Everton has to say.
And this may be the most important goal ever. Finishing first in group = good shot to make it to Quarter Finals.
I think there's plenty of room on the mall in DC for a Landon statue. Oh F%$@ it.....put the damn thing in Trafalgar Square for our English buddies

Landon needs another song! I'm hacking out a quicky to "Battle Hymn of the Republic": Coming to the game with advancement on the line, The USA is pushing hard into injury time, Howard throws, Josy passes, Donovan converts THE US MARCHES ON! I think the third line needs to be tightened up.
Landon Donovan needs a 3X life size statue of him on a stallion, rising over the crushed bodies of the ref from Mali, Wayne Rooney and a clown from each of those other teams. The caption plate on the bottom "JUST TRY AND STOP US"
Hey guys, do you all remember that time Landon Donovan scored in the 91st minute to give us our best WC group finish ever? That was awesome.
AMERICA ******** YEAH!!!! What a performance tonight by the boys, cannot explain how proud I am of them, they simply epitomized what Americans are all about, magical finish. Our big players are finally stepping up and leading our troops. I love the USMNT
If Landon Donovan was playing any other sport in the U.S., he would be a superstar. All he does is carry whatever teams he plays on (San Jose', LA, Everton, USMT) to success. It's too bad he'll never see the type of fame in this country that somebody like Derek Jeter or Brett Favre gets, though I suppose a good consolation would be a fat contract from an English club due to his World Cup success.
Nobody is saying that there should LITERALLY have a statue erected in Landon's honor. We are just saying he's a ********ing hero and we love him.
Agreed, but he will always live in US football history. You better believe I'll tell my kids about this day. 20 years from now when football has an even bigger following we'll truly realize how important he was to the USMNT.
I don't know about a statue, but I know this: With the Galaxy's 2009 season, the U.S. qualifying campaign, his stint at Everton, and now two crucial World Cup goals, "Landycakes" is no more. Landon Donovan is a legitimate star. Well done. Now get us to the quarterfinals!
