Congratulations to him and fully deserved.

Very happy and proud he's making such an impact in such a short time.

wow. Personally, while I think LD has played well I would still give the award to Saha or Fellaini or Cahill, maybe even Pienaar before Landon. Not his fault, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of resentment from some of his teammates for this. It's a little like Obama's nobel - the committee didn't do him any favors by anointing him before he earned it.

Not picking on you or anything, so PLEASE don't take offense.

But it never fails: whenever LD wins something by vote....there's always someone else who "should" have won. :)

And personally, I'd be very surprised if there were any resentment from his teammates. They've all taken to Landon, fans and teammates alike.

I can't see any resentment arising from that. They're professionals and it's just a fan award in any case. He probably got it because of how quickly he's acclimated and to thank him while they still can.

I've never heard of players falling out over this before.

But yes, that does look suspiciously like a Timbers shirt....

And, judging by that picture, if this whole soccer thing doesn't pan out for him, he's got a future on QVC.

    Keep givin' em hell LD.

I wonder how many of those votes came from the American audience? It's a bit like the Sky Sports vote that also seems at odds with the game sometimes, but it's hardly surprising since the US fans are watching this very closely.

Seriously though I'm not taking anything away from him. He's done very well considering the lack of training, time he's been playing with the team and suddenly jumping up a level of play.

I'd love to see him actually get into the groove by spending more time with the team, then and with the coaching he's receiving we will see the best from him! I think he can only get better and maybe Moyes and team will help him move onto the next level and who knows even step into one of the top 5 teams.
