Ok, there are a bunch of movie buffs in here that are well school beyond me (and it's not even close).

is there a LOTL movie out there or any thing in the works? I've never seen anything and that could be a great tv show to movie. I always loved that show as a kid.

Christ, I hope not. My childhood has been raped enough already.

On a related note, if you're jonesing for some LOTL-style viewing, check out Saul of the Mole Men on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. It's a tongue-firmly-in-cheek nod to the Kroft shows of the 70's.

we already got a LotL movie, it was called Jurassic Park.

ok, I kid, I kid. I'd love for this to happen. Even if it was totally over the top with special effects and crappy writing. woohoo!

IIRC, there was some talk at one point of Will Ferrell doing a movie remake of the show. I haven't heard anything more about it since 2005 or so.

Really, I can't think of a better way to spend $100 million than to produce a movie that indulges Generation X-ers of their extremely mild nostalgia for an otherwise forgettable piece of pop culture.

Remember Teddy Ruxpin? Or the Snorkles? Wouldn't big-budget movies be totally awesome?!?

What my brother gave me for Christmas last year:

Not because it is a favorite show, though - because it is a funny childhood reference to us both, with a memorable, malleable theme song. H.R. Puffinstuff would've been handy that way too.

Me, I got him a USNT jersey (albeit a used one). His was funnier!

New theme song lyrics: "Marshall, assistant person and macho guy, on a routine expedition . . ."

(mention of the song again - take that, Chicago1871!

Did they recruit Bill Lambere to play one of the Sleestaks? I never did watch this show as a kid. I was more into Buck Rogers.

    7.5/10

Mostly because I liked the show as a kid and got alot of the "in-jokes".

Probably not everybody's cup of tea, but I enjoyed it as a matinee.

When tickets for matinees headed north of $7, I stopped judging some films okay to see at the "cheaper" matinee cost. :)
