Is he the most overrated player in the premiership? sure he is good when he is surrounded by superstars but when he has to make an impact he shows no inititive and seems out of his league.

He's definitely overrated but he's still a solid Premiership player.

Two years ago he was without a doubt one of the best, if not the best central midfielder in the world. Since then he had never reached the standards he set during that time. And he seldom performs for the England team.

I've always maintained that he was overrated. It's good to see people finally waking up to the truth.

I went to England Paraguay and he played real well in that match but was restricted with Seven only having one player up front until the 75th minute.

Lampard is one of those players that will give you goals from midfield if he's given the freedom to do so - but not a lot else. He gives you little defensively and will support others offensively but never dominate the game himself. If he's not scoring goals then he's not worth his place. To give him the freedom he needs you have to have the likes of Makelele, Essien etc in central midfield with him. England simply don't have such players and Lampard's game suffers.

Honestly yes, he is the most overrated player.
    He is so inconsistent.
He was great last couple years, but he chokes now.
Lampard has done nothing great for National team this year.
He either passed his prime time or he was one-time shiner.

even if he was in form, i still don't think he should make the starting 11 ahead of hargreaves and gerrard (when everyone is fit or not suspended of course) in the center of midfield!

He has a good bit of form now and again where be bangs in long-range shots and free kicks. The rest of the time he's completely annonymous. I can't see Mourinho carrying him especially with all the talent at Chelsea.

Good player, used to be one of the worlds best and still could be but is too inconsistent and hasn't done well for England for a long time. Should be dropped from starting team for the next match.

I agree with you. That's exactely what I think too.
He won't be ahead of Gerrard nor hargreaves in center of mid.
Nowadays, he plays with less passion.

Lampard's one of those guys who is good for the team, under a specific system. But he's inflexible (not sure if that's the correct way to say it) and when out of his element, he stutters. Right now, though, I wonder if that's the problem with the whole team.

Lennon has looked good in short bursts. He has the potential to be an excellent player, but for all his runs his positive contribution in his England career is one cross for a goal. His entire contribution in his last match was 4 dribbles resulting in lost possession each time.
I don't want to have a go at him as he has a really bright future, but the idea that he has been one of England's best players recently is simply wrong. He has a lot too learn but has shown in short bursts what he might be capable of at international level.
