should be a chance to shine against relatively weak CM oppo. Hope his ankle doesn't hold him back.

    Weak opponents?
Come on, mate. Australia, as a sporting nation, is terribly under rated. We are arguably the best Cricket team in the world. We have the number one Tennis player in the World. Reining Rugby champions. We have the best Swimmers in the world. The best Netball side in the world. And on top of that, we have a good Soccer side, which in my opinion is in the top twenty-five in the world. Maybe top twenty.

    Lampard did nothing, anyway.

Australia drew 1-1 with France in a friendly 16 months ago. They should have beaten Uruguay in the world cup qualifier, however, speculation has it that Australia was scared of being tormented and harassed after the game; Uruguay fans are shocking!!

Well Zola, in the cold light of day what can I say, poor old Frank is being blasted in the papers over the 2nd goal, and the Aussies have triumphed over England yet again.

My one consolation is that I have a paddy passport. But beating Scotland is no big deal.

Kylie and I share a birthday, maybe I'll "get in" with the Aussies?

I wasn't dissing the Aussie team, I was remarking that their CM partnership didn't look to be the calibre of most international sides. Anyway, England's (and Frank's) performance left me without a leg to stand on for my hypothesis. It's not a big deal to me that FL didn't play great. Sure we always want to see the Chelsea boys do well but maybe if he has less of an international career he will focus all of his efforts on bringing some silverware to Stamford Bridge.

Gallas, Dessa and Petit all played a lot of minutes in France's loss to the Czechs. Wouldn't be surprised to see Petit on the bench on Sunday with jody getting the start. Same with one of Billy or Marcel, maybe CR will rets one of them and give JT another start.

    how about

Australia Vs. The USA – that’d be a very interesting game

Despite recent evidence to the contrary I still feel that England are a better side than the Aussies, and on the day (in an important and relevant fixture) they would win :)

England would also beat the yanks, IMO.

But I guess the point is that there are no easy fixtures in International Football these days.

    conga-rats to the Aussies!

    England have the better players

    and the better team

but our team is improving, hard working, spirited, fast on the counter (the likes of Kewell, Emerton, Chipperfield and Skoko) and play it neat and tight.

We are probably as good as the Irish and I don't think England would automatically assume a victory over that lot.

A couple thousand aussies chanting "You can't even invent sports you’re good at" - classic :)

Our centre mid (like all our other positions), is improving by the way

Okon is a premiership quality player, Skoko did well in the Champions League, Grella is playing regularly in Seria A and Bresciano is getting playing time for Parma.

    Oh the shame ... LOL

I'm thinking about exploring my Brazilian ancestry now and thereby removing myself from all future footballing ignominy. Nobody ever disses the Brazilians do they? I mean its all “the beautiful game” and “samba skills”…Yeah Brazil it is, all beaches and babes and super skills, kinda fits my MO that does :)
