What is the concert you are most embarassed to say that you attended?

    For me it's Julio Iglesias.

Although the Atlanta Rhythmn Section is a close second.

I'm not nearly as embarrassed about going to see Harry Connick Jr (which I did) as I am about seeing David Lee Roth with special guest Cinderella.

a neighbor and i (being barely of driving age) were tasked with taking his younger sister and her friend to see joan jett and the blackhearts. it was her first concert, and afterward she claimed it was "the best concert EVER!" i wept.

Without question, it has to be MTV's 1993 Alternative Nation Tour. On the bill -- Screaming Trees, Soul Asylum, and the headliners . . . the Spin Doctors. Total shite. I'm embarrassed that I was even within 50 miles of that concert.

I saw Deep Purple in their prime, their "Machine Head" concert. They were terrible, just collecting a paycheck.

I understand that they're still boring crowds after all these years. I read that they toured recently with Scorpions and Dio, and they were the headliners. Hopefully, the Dio/Scorpions fans got their moneysworth.

    Ditto!

I saw them when I was 14 (damn, that long ago) and they just stood there the whole time. I was never so bored at a concert in my life. It was the first and last time I ever went to a R&B or rap concert. I stuck with the metal and rock concerts from then on.

I think I was probably 11 or 12, it might've been my first concert ever, can't remember for sure though. But it definitely did suck. I really have no idea why I wanted to go, I think I went a girl though, so that probably explains it.

Hmmm. I don't go to too many shows, so I don't end up at too many lame ones.

Maybe the free tix I had to see Natalie Merchant, although she wasn't really bad.

    Snoop Dogg.

Started 2 1/2 hours late, and it was standing room only for pretty much everybody. When you're standing, 2 1/2 hours is like forever. He finally arrived, got on stage, did about 4 songs and then took a 30 minute break so that his girl band "Doggies Angels" could play a set. They eventually were booed offstage.

Dan Fogelberg....my roomie at the time had free tickets and I think she was so stoned out of her mind that she thought it was cool. I thought it sucked.

I think the worst moment of the concert was when they started to sing that "I'll make love to you song" and started handing out roses to girls up near stage. I think about 15 girls were lost in the ensuing stampede, and there was that crazy high pitched girly screaming that you hear whenever Mia Hamm is close to the goal in a USWNT game for around 12 minutes. I don't think my ears have recovered to this day.

tree, fid, and pele, GREAT shots, ALL of you!!! :)

and aimer, the stoning has nothin' to do with it: you were right, your roomie was wrong! :)

now, back to the subject of the thread: i also saw prince (or whatever the he11 he's called these days....and no, i steadfastly REFUSE to call him "the artist." there's a certain level of pretension that i SIMPLY CAN'T TOLERATE!!!) once (purple reign ("rain"? i don't remember, and don't care) tour here in SP), and while i'll admit he's a great showman (when he decides to be), and a talented musician.....he's also just a pain in the a$$!!!!! ;-)

    apologies for all the parentheses,

Oooh. This is painful to admit. I once saw "Air Supply" in concert. To my defense, I won the tickets from a radio contest. There are alot of close seconds I can think of, but this is definately the most embarassing.

this isn't just lame, it's downright embarassing.

    LFO.

with my two cousins who loved them. i swear it wasn't my idea. we were at Six Flags anyway and the tickets were only 5 bucks..

to make matters worse it was one of those Nickelodean concert tours with a ton of other lite-R&B, rapping kiddies, and other such crap. to give you an idea, the best performers there were "B*WITCHED" lmao that cracks me up thinking about it

    Glenn Frey circa 1991

    Better Than Ezra circa anytime.

Both were the kind of shows where going to take a leak was the highlight.

NKOTB and Tiffany, I was like 11 and my older cousin made me go with her. Talk about being scarred for life....and I thought we were going to Kings Island to ride the coasters. How naive...
