    Lake Highlands v. Plano

Just saw a great win by Lake Highlands against Klein.

Tomorrow, Saturday, 1:30 at Wildcat/Ram Stadium. The team from the best little suburb in Texas vs. the fake, scummy, devil-spawn from Plano West.

Should be a good one. A perfect warmup to a season of soccer at a high school stadium.

All kidding aside, Lake Highlands is very fun to watch. Should be a great game. Nice crowd tonight. Show your support tomorrow for the great game.

Boy, I really screwed this up, I think. A usually reliable source told me that Plano had won the first game, but the DMN says Houston Cypress won.

Apologies all around. I have not credibility.

What does this have to do with the Burn?

Not much but I'll try and defend. Lake Highlands plays at Wildcats/Ram Stadium which is where the final of the Dallas Cup is held. If the Burn stadium is approved it would make a lot of sense to move the Cup to the new facility so that all the preliminaries could be held at the same location along with the final. Dallas Cup will also host the US U17 Mens team and some of those players could wind up with the Burn like in years past (DJ Countess). OK, none.

Burn soccer fans live in the environs of Dallas.

The MLS season has not begun.

Wildcat Ram stadium is a high school stadium. It has field turf.

Hence, a little great soccer to whet the appitite.

Also, Paul Broome played at Lake Highlands. Based on what I saw, a couple of these kids may be in MLS in a couple of years....

I think Paul Broome played at Highland Park, not Lake Highlands. I also think Wildcat-Ram stadium has grass, not field turf.

What do YOU have to do with the Burn, DCer. Go back to your DC board and your AC/DC team.

You're correct about the Plano part. You're correct about the best little suburb in Texas part. However, Lake Highlands, although in RISD, is entirely or nearly so located in the City of Dallas in terms of its attendance zones. So to say LH are from Richardson is a little off.

Nope. After the win on Saturday we went down and walked around the field. Can't swear that its Field Turf (TM) but pretty sure it is.

For what its worth, the Field Turf has zero -- zero -- effect on my enjoyment of the game. The ball didn't spin -- may in fact have given the players just a splitsplit second ability to make a few more killer moves.
