Damn...I come home after a long day running around and see that score. I never would have predicted anything like that. Must have been a cracking match. That should shut up DC and their dynasty talk...well, for a couple days.
As if 5-2 wasn't good enough for us, From New York: [RESULT]RBNY 6-0 RSL.[/RESULT] Surely one of our best weekends this season.
a much needed win... hell we may just make it to 4th. god knows how the league would react if we managed to make it the finals again. what's our aggregate at dc over the past three years? 12-6.
We gotta play like this more often. I think Yallop is the soap & body spray that is getting rid of the dirt & stench of the former coach that will not be named. We won in good fashion. Loved LD taunting the DC fans. I thought he had 3 goals, but the broadcast only credited him 2. Was one of his goals an own goal then? This is awesome!
3 years in a row we get the result that turns it around in their home. Yeah Sean check out the score report, see any fimiliar names?
Gordon showed something today. I had originally said he blew a few easy plays (which he did) but he was holding the ball well. Kirk played better today than he has most of the season. Hope that it is not the exception. Landon had an outstanding game. Sturgis keeps proving he is the fastest improving player on the field. Solid Albright. Except for Roberts and Ugo others played well
Now that was a game! And boy did we need those points. Cobi was great. Kirk looked good. I thought Gordon was good and deserves credit for the goal. It was all about hustle and being in the right spot and he was rewarded for that tonight. Oh, and that Donovan guy is pretty good too.
We just kicked the league's best right in their own house. Quite fun. God bless Frank Yallop. If we make the playoffs, he should be coach of the year.
I have to agree. LA scores 5 goals to beat DC. EDITED: REMOVED RESULT LA has got to go in to Salt Lake and destroy them.
Yep, we both called the Albright goal, sweet. Although to be honest, I'd rather they give it to Landon, a Landon hat-trick at RFK in front of the Bathless "grope house" Brava would be too good.
Last time the Galaxy scored 5 times in an MLS regular season game: 8/18/2001 LA 5:1 TB (Vanney, own goal, Victorine 2, Jones; Ralston) They've scored 5 three times in the Open Cup and once in the playoffs since then.
This puts LA at 29 points. 1 win away (coupled with a Chivas loss tonight) would give LA sole position of that 4th and final playoff spot. P.S. Go Houston!
doh please do not post scores of other games unless with the result tag jk Its alright I dont care 5-2 Wow with Gordan in the lineup too
There may still be hope for some late season heroics. I didnt watch the game but 5-2 is a rape, regardless of how you want to look at it. Anyone else think there was some error when they first saw the score? I sure did when i got onto mlsnet and saw the 5-2 score. I mean come on we dont score 5 goals in a month let alone one game. This could be a very huge weekend, if other game go our way as well.
Christ, that was easy. We gave them one and it still wasn't even close. I invite anyone who wishes to take a well-deserved shot at this one to head down to the Deathwatch thread in the Rivalries forum and ask SavannahFan why they're so uneasy all of a sudden . . . https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=337509
You know its a good weekend when: -The Galaxy scores more than 1 goal -Gordon scores a goal -Kirk is an effective MF -We spoil the DC party by being the only team that has beat them at home this year AND... -Wolyniec SCORES for NYRB Overall good win for our team. It was an all team effort and thumbs up to our defense (despite the own goal by Roberts) in keeping Alecko, Moreno, Adu from scoring. I can't wait for Wednesday to come
Awesome! Didn't get to see the game, and was wondering what is making the biggest difference: Yallop, Donovan getting his head together, or is it something else? DC thought they were kings of the world, and thanks to you guys, they're enjoying a nice steaming helping of humble pie tonight. This rocks!
They have "his" 2nd goal listed as a DC own goal though I though it was going in and should have been his goal..
