Will EZ be recovered from his flu by Wednesday? Will Necaxa send their reserves? Will the warmer weather be more suiting to Alexi's nipples?

You have to think that Necocksa will be bringing their best 11 because of the whole US-Mexico rivalry. Does Aguinaga still play for them?

Carlos Hermosillo isn't around to help Necaxa this time. The Galaxy will prevail in this game. The G's should have won the last time the two teams met. Hermosillo purposely missed two clear shots at goal. Hell, he almost made one of them by mistake.

To all of you going to the game. Good luck with all the free beer. And nachos. And hot dogs. And piss flying around. :/

Necaxa better be bringing their first team or I would be disappionted. I want to see two fine squads from each league going at each other full bore.

The Galaxy need to play a lot better than Saturday if they expect to come out with a result. Hopefully EZ will be ready and maybe we'll see Chacon and/or Cienfuegos to add a spark.

It is highly Unlikely since they just suffered their second straight defeat in a home game against Santos (1-0) and are now in third place of Group 3 only one point behind Real San Luis, and their next match is an away game to Colibries. Cruz Azul which is four points behind could also catch up since Necaxa schedule just got complicated.

Won't matter if they do, after watching them Sunday against Santos they are a very weak team. This game will be an absolute cake walk.

    i predict a 3-0 or 4-0 scoreline.

yea, but weren't you the one who predicted an easy Galaxy victory v. the Crew? i could have you mistaken.

even against a mixture of reserves and starters, i don't think it will be easy. also, Ruiz had his molar taken out after his injury on the last play of the game, and he is only listed as "probable", so he may not be at his best.

A few changes in MY line-up for tomorrow night's match v Necaxa, taking advantage of our depth IMHO:

    ----------------------Hartman------------------
    ----------Califf---------Lalas--------Marshall----
    ----------------------Hong Bo------------------
    ---Ezra--------APC---------Elliott-------Glinton-
    -------------Cobi--------------Ruiz-------------

Subs: Cien, Victorine, Moreno & Lewis (think he's available, isn't he??)

Having Glinton & Ezra, on the flanks, gives us the opportunity to expose Necaxa's defense to our speed.

Don't think starting Cien AND Pineda Chacon would be a mistake IMHO. considering their styles are VERY similar. Starting APC & bringing in Cien in the second half keeps our playmaking "fresh & effective."

Galaxy 2 Necaxa 0. Goals by Ruiz & Cien.

We MUST win by, at least, two goals IMHO & I think, being back in sunny & warm SoCal will help us in our performance!! GO, GALAXY!!!!!!!!!!

    OOOOOPS!!!

A "slip of the tongue," as relates to Cien & APC.

I meant to say that starting the two, together, WOULD be a mistake.

Not because of their abilities, but because their styles are MORE effective if they're not on the field at the same time IMHO!!

I have not seen enough of APC to comment on his style and whether he would fit with Cien, but I do think that the likely pace of the game will suit either one of them.

Neither is blessed with "blazing speed" which concerns me, but the game will dictate how they can best be used. If Necaxa plays the way I have seen most Mexican league teams play, they will rely more on skill than speed, and that would seem to suit Cien (and to a lesser extent APC) at this point in his career.

Mexican soccer in general is at a snail's pace and you can expect to see both APC and Cien tonight. Neither would have adjusted well to the C-bus game because that team is quick.
However, having two slower players in against Necaxa may be playing right into their hands. I would rather see a young fast lineup in including Moreno, Glinton, even Al-not-so-bright and run at the Mexicans. That might suit the Galaxy better.

I agree we need to field a fast team but if you dont have the passing to take advantage of spaces that are created with speed you just end up exerting energy with no result. That is what hurt us against columbus. We need Chacon or Cien on the field. with accurate slicing passes and fast runs we can win, but we need that field general to make it work.

That is a misconception that the MFL gets because many of its games are played in midday usually in hot climates which makes it difficult for teams to run the full 90 min.. Games played in the Evening/Night are played at at much faster pace. Judging by Copa Libertadores play against Full squads, Mexican sides have managed consistant wins over Argentine and Brazilian Clubs which we would consider to play above a "Snails Pace" and are more technically gifted. Therefore the MFL is not as slow as it appears to be. Necaxa however is a generally slow side but judging from Galaxys last game against the Crew i can say they have better passing skills and can play an effective keep away game if need be.

    Thanks,
