What, you mean Vini? Man, my post history is there you go and have a look what my opinion on him is and has always been for many years. I don't care if someone is Spanish or not, even though as a Spanish club I do believe Real Madrid needs to have Spanish representation which actually is fair since Spain has proved to be creating many talented players. I'd say the same things for Greek, English, Brazilian clubs though.
Then don't stick your nose in a discussion where it's ABOUT IT. Everybody can like or dislike a player, hell this place dislikes the best player of it's generation with every fiber of their being and try to convince themselves he's a cheater, but the statement that Cucurella is a horrible human being is weird in every kind of context.
Being a labelled a $hit bag human being just because of unsportsmanlike in-game behaviour is an odd take. I’m happy he’s signed for the club on the overall balance of everything.

Confidence is great.... he will need to back all this talk up though. If he can't let's see how he holds up?

I have a feeling he will do his best “ole” when it comes to Yamal in his first Clasico. Country before club.
You have to go back to the ‘90s to find the last La Masia product to play for Madrid. So very surprising transfer in that regard, though perhaps not that much different than Marcos Alonso playing for Barca.
Credit where it's due. I never rated him very highly, but he's having a spectacular world cup. If he can play similarly for Real Madrid, then we have nothing to complain about. Keep up the good work, love the hustle!
Annoying AF but low-key one of the best performers in the WC and to his credit he faced some tough tests: Schmidt, Neto, Cancelo, Trossard, Dembele..these were either nullified and subbed out early in 2H or made to look like fools..

I don't like the player or the way he behaves after Spain win big games, especially after he the Euro 2024 that he started singing: "Cucu, Cucurella, he eats paella. Cucu, Cucurella, he drinks Estrella. Haaland, you'd better tremble, because Cucurella is coming!" Dude, just shut up. Norway weren't even at the Euros, and every time you faced Haaland in the Premier League, he owned you. In five meetings, Haaland scored four goals and registered an assist against Chelsea. To make it even better, in Chelsea's first Premier League game after the Euros, Haaland scored against them again. That said, I have to give him credit. He's one of the top three left-backs in the world (I'd put him 2nd or 3rd), and he had an outstanding World Cup. Hell of a tournament. ⛔️ Number of timed Marc Cucurella has been dribbled past in the last 5 World Cup games:🇫🇷 France: 0🇧🇪 Belgium: 0🇵🇹 Portugal: 0🇦🇹 Austria: 0 🇺🇾 Uruguay: 0🤯 INSANE. pic.twitter.com/vLFYGrvrAn— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) July 15, 2026
Yup, I think the defensive capabilities are getting exaggerated due the way Spain's system is set up.
We've seen him get torn to pieces over and over again. Cannavaro had the performances of his life at the World Cup and a month later John Carew had him begging for mercy. Just as an appetizer of what you might be in for believing the World Cup hype. This was his heatmap vs France: Almost played as an additional midfield player. This was Fran Garcia getting pinned into his own half in Madrid: This was Trent: If the team plays anything near like what it did last season instead of how Spain does now, you'll see a very very different player.
Yeah Chelsea fans have been saying the same thing. He is abit suspect in defence but he is a warrior and someone you want in your team. We were begging for one legged Mendy just to avoid seeing Carreras. I am sure Cucurella will have his work cut out for him. He doesnt have to be the best offensive left back given Vini's style of play but he definitely has to be competent on the ball and that he is. We'll see how it works out but he is a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge, not because he is some defensive juggernaut but because his qualities outweighs his weaknesses.
