Rayo players claim innocence: "They can investigate us"

    http://en.as.com/en/2016/05/13/football/1463136495_680138.html

"Rayo Vallecano players accompanied their coach Paco Jémez and club president Raúl Martín Presa for a joint press conference on Friday morning to catagorically refute claims that the team deliberately threw their game against Real Sociedad last weekend on which an unusually high number of bets were placed for a home win on the eve of the game. Rayo added that they plan to take legal action against those who accused them of match-fixing."

But Sporting Gijon is winning and now they're up 2-0 on Villareal. So even though Rayo is wining S.Gijon are over them by 1 point.

Looks like Rayo is going to be relegated, I'm going to be interested in what Rayo OKC does from now on. There is going to be considerable pressure on the owner to spend on the team to get them back up, any money spent on OKC will most likely be seen in a very negative light back home.

Rayo OKC will be fine for this year and the next 2, they committed funds for 3 years to the NASL club.

So if Vallecano bounce back it'll be okay. Hopefully.

As long as the local owners are willing to put money in, I don't see an issue. It sucks though that they had to be branded the way they did vs something more "local" or "neutral". Not that it ultimately matters but being a "satellite" club for an owner of a 2nd division La Liga team isn't helping the Rayo OKC brand at all (not saying it's hurting either).

Maybe they'll transfer a player from their team that doesn't want to play in the 2nd division in Spain and wants to "try" living in America? Never know.
