Yeah its very disappointing, thats because no teams has promoted their club - you get fans through the root level of local community and towns.
these club cant just keep relying on history and past glories...you need win championships, perform at international level ( the last time a salvadoran team has won a international tournament is Alianza F.C. in 1997 at the now defunct Uncaf cup), teams need to promote their club to their local community through doing school clinic fans days and supporting well wild causes.
the last time i visited el salvador my cousin summarised el salvador league soccer as boring which pretty much shows why people in el salvador are supporting the spanish league (in particular Barcelona and Real Madrid).
If clubs were smart we'd try to gain some sort of partnership with these clubs (escepially barcelona by playing a game with them and donating the profit of the game to building soccer facilities in poorer communties or gang prevention programs) or even if we couldnt do that at least send some club admistration to see how these clubs run these clubs.

Of course these clubs are not going to compete with the likes of Real Madrid & Barcelona in many ways, but they are live, cheap and accessible ... except of course when Rm v FCB is on your telly for free and the live game of lower quality is $4 to get in, plus travel its not cheaper..

But the point is there is a product to sell, and I didn't find it boring, but thats me. he problem is now that MOST fans of football world wide are TV & youtube taught .... so not only does watching a game live take more effort, its probably a duller experience ,... which is crazy! i am old and out of touch I know ... but a live game at any level is always more interesting than any game on the telly ,...

But again, as you say, it took me about 3 months of living in Santa Tecla to find out they had a team, and another 3 or 4 to find the ground, and fixtures - and remember I am soneone who speaks Spanish and was actively seeking it!! So i agree they need to publisize more ... but that all costs more of course...

    Agreed.

Winning local championships does nothing to increase attendances IMO (in El Salvador that is); performing well at international level, well that's a different story. If one of our clubs could manage to do well in the CCL and at least make it as far as the quarterfinals i have no doubts that that's club attendance and fan interest would increase tremendously.

As for the clubs actively getting out and seeking support from the community, well yeah, that is one of the many things that our clubs need to work on. I mean there are certain "fan days/events" held throughout the year but not hardly enough to make it worthwhile. Some clubs also do there part to support the community and regularly (1-2 times a year) go to hospitals and talk to sick kids or patients in general. But there is SOOO much more that they could be doing. Maybe one day things will change.

Yeah, there are some in my family that are the same way. They even felt that way about the national team (as did a lot of people) until about 1-2 years ago when they started playing better and winning games. Unfortuantly though i think it's going to be a lot more difficult to get people back on the league "bandwagon" than it was for them to get back to supporting the national team. At this point i actually don't see any other real solution but to just restructure all the leagues and start fresh with what hopefully will be a different attitude from both the players and the people with the money that run the clubs. Anything but that, and things will just remain the way they are now. That's partially why i would like DLC to stay on in El Salvador. He sees the flaws in the system and wants change, hopefully he gets it.

That is a HUGE ask. I think a more realistic option would be to form a partnership with a team like Cadiz. I mean with all the history between our country and that club i'm sure a link between FAS and Cadiz is not an unrealistic option. Yeah it's not Barcelona or Real, but atleast it's something. As for learning about how to run a club, well i'm sure most know enough to make things better (or atleast enough to know that what we currently have is not so great); but the way i see it most are just content with how things are and avoid change because to bring change you need money, and most either don't have it, or don't want to spend it. Simple as that.

    Yeah that's a shame.

I think Santa Tecla more than any other club has huge potential to be a really good team with a really good fan base. Hopefully when/if they get promoted they can stay in the top flight and find good investment to possibly build a good litte stadium. Hopefully with time they can become a good team in terms of their gameplay and a good club in terms of how they run things (creating a good example for others clubs to follow).

Game had a few moments, but it wasn't good for a semifinal. Now I wish Marte or Metapan would have advanced, I feel they could have been more competitive. Ah well.

It was pretty entertaining i thought. Yeah no goals, but defensively they both played fairly well (Gonzalez was a standout as always). They both also created numerous chances (FAS moreso than Vista) which kept the game on edge.

On a side note, we (Firpo) REALLY need to invest in a quality striker. Benitez failed to produce the entire season, Campos just isn't good enough, Barrera wasn't given enough time and Legui just isn't a striker. Apart from that we really gotta drop Dubon who does nothing, and also need to start looking for replacements for both Sanchez and Gonzalez who are getting too old.

Be interesting to see how we go next season with a new coach though.
