The reserve team is the Orange County Blue Star, probably the most direct affiliate.

Well, they're defunct, unless you buy in the theory that they may have evolved into the Blue Star.

  5. O.C. Zodiac

This is what I have learnt about about the Orange County Bluestars even though I live in England...

As far as the Orange County Blue Star Galaxy Reserves are concerned they are not a proper reserve team as you would have here in England. They play in the PDL (4th Div) and is a semipro squad comprised mostly of college players. Also, the PDL has an abbreviated season as opposed to the A-League (2nd Div.) and D3 (3rd Div.) and they do not practice with the Galaxy squad.

    That option ain't no good...

What league do O.C Zodiac play in???...

    Please Reply, Thankyou...

    Mandy,

No MLS team has a "proper" reserve squad, as that term is used in England. As I understand it, the reserve teams in England are actually under contract to the big club - so the Arsenal reserves are actually under contract to Arsenal and can be used on the big club rosters if and when the big club wants to use them. In the mean time, they play other reserve clubs.

Now, in MLS, the individual team rosters are very small and very few of the "reserves" are under contract to the big clubs. The ability to bring someone up to the big club is very limited. On the Orange County Blue Star, there are probably only 3 or 4 players that are actually under some sort of contract arrangement with MLS and GaLAxy.
