Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. my bad, skydog, i didn't even think about it ..... glad it didn't kill the whole game for you
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. That would give the team an extra day to acclimate to the altitude, too. Although, I forget what the rules are with that - maybe having 2 days at altitude is worse than having one day. I tried to google this but no luck - does anyone know if 2 days are better?
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. np. just don't let it happen again or I will have to ... uhhh... hmmm...give you neg rep?? you'll be sorry then!
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. We win 2-1. We take a 2-0 lead, concede a goal and hold on for dear life. BRING IT! I'm ready for a new season...
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. STOP IT PRIMALITY lol stop putting becks in the center. We lose the majority of his most needed asset which is his inswingers from the right. If you really like Klein that much i'll agree that becks should be able to push a tad to the right center and let klein roam forward when we're moving the ball but stop I REPEAT STOP IT with the Center midfield position.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. Yeah, because the Galaxy is clearly cash strapped. I know it's not much, but the season is long...tons of travel for those 2 in and out of the country...I just don't see anything wrong with lessening the wear and tear on them whenever possible. Not a big deal, though.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. actually, you would need closer to a week, to become fully acclamated. so, it really won't matter much how early you get here... I would worry more about the cold, and possible snow after the sun goes down @ 7:22 on saturday...
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. maybe our guys should spend a week before colorado games up in bigbear.... it's not like we dont have some altitude closer by where they could get used to it...
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. Big Bear - 7000 feet, Denver is only 5000+ feet - this is a great idea! We would kick their butts!
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. I can't wait for the season to start. It is time for redemption.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. IIRC, the rule is to either get in right before the match, before you begin to lose oxygen-saturation in your bloodstream, or get there several days in advance to fully acclimatize. Don't know if that has anything to do with when the team is planning to arrive...
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. Any news on if Alvaro received his Visa? I wish the blog would keep us informed of things like that...
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. Easy there tigers' and tigress', you haven't kicked anything yet...
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. aaarrrrgggghhhh!!!! Is it Saturday yet? I can't stand it!!!!!!!!!! Seriously... I am going to be bouncing of the walls by noon on Saturday.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. For anyone interested my Galaxy vs Rapids preview has been posted on American Soccer Reader. I've posted three Galaxy articles total. Feel free to let me have it in the comments section.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. 5/20/06 Rapids 1 LA 0 5/31/06 Rapids 1 LA 0 8/12/06 Rapids 1 LA 0 9/16/06 Rapids 0 LA 0 5/26/07 Rapids 1 LA 0 8/26/07 Rapids 3 LA 0 Well just let recent history do the talking...
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. Nathan, what did those poor apostrophes ever do to you to deserve such treatment? We tigers and tigresses are hungry for some meaningful games, but even the big cats get jet lagged; just hopefully, there will be some Rapids' carnage before our defense starts cat napping.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. Definitely true about our recent results, but somehow I think if recent history was doing the talking all by itself it wouldn't be posting in the Galaxy pregame forum under the moniker BirisNorte.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. of course when it counted, we won in denver. twice.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. that's alot of 0's in our column..... did we only play them twice last year?
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. no we beat them 3-1 at home here's the complete record over the last three years 2005 COL 2 @ LAG 3 LAG 0 @ COL 1 (loss on a PK, though colorado did have two ejections) LAG 0 @ COL 2 COL 1 @ LAG 4 LAG 2 @ COL 0 2006 COL 1 @ LAG 0 LAG 0 @ COL 1 LAG 0 @ COL 1 COL 1 @ LAG 3 2006 LAG 0 @ COL 1 LAG 0 @ COL 2 COL 1 @ LAG 3 so not great 4-8-0 though we did play 7 of those games in colorado. i think what you can see though is colorado over the past 3 seasons have basically been italy, playing a catenaccio style. they grind down their opponents and score a lone goal and then play as negatively possible. they've only scored multiple goals against us from the run of play twice in the last 12 games. if we can score first and put multiple goals on the board we should win. if it's a 1 goal game colorado has the edge.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. Well put, I think you hit the nail on the head. We play a slower game on the pitch than most. Best of luck tomorrow, but I would have to say the edge goes to Colorado at home.
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. I just have one thing to say... I am incredibly thankful to see that Colorado has far more people on their injury list than the Galaxy does...thank goodness! It is a welcomed change... Go Galaxy! (and no, I don't want any players to be injured on any team...actually I could name a few, but no, injuries bad.... Just such a rare occurence for the Galaxy for the last couple years to have a semi healthy team! Uh oh...did I put that out there? Good karma...Good karma...Good karma
Re: .:LA Galaxy vs C-Rapids 3/29/08 Pre-Game Thread:. Maybe Yallop had one thing right! LOL I think the few inswingers we lose from Becks in this formation are more than compensated for when you add in Klein's very capable crossing and Becks' control of pace from the center. I don't like the idea of Klein roaming too far forward with nobody behind him. Putting Franklin on the field brings some speed to the backline. Putting Becks in the middle also puts less emphasis on Pires and whoever is at Left Midfield. I am not sold on Pires yet, let's hope he proves me wrong...
