With the exception of Clint Dempsey and Marshall Leonard, NE is starting virtually the same starting lineup that was so effective v. Goatboy USA. 1 - Matt Reis (GK) 2 - Clint Dempsey 4 - Avery John 6 - Jay Heaps 7 - Jose Cancela 15 - Michael Parkhurst 16 - James Riley 20 - Taylor Twellman 21 - Shalrie Joseph 22 - Marshall Leonard 25 - Andy Dorman Franchino is suspended for attempting to make goat's head soup. Galaxy starting lineup: 22 - Kevin Hartman (GK) 2 - Todd Dunivant 5 - Chris Albright 8 - Peter Vagenas 10 - Landon Donovan 12 - Troy Roberts 13 - Cobi Jones 14 - Tyrone Marshall 15 - Ugo Ihemelu 16 - Herculez Gomez 28 - Paulo Nagamura I think MLS Bizarro week is still in effect, so I predict our first road win, 2:0, with goals from Donovan and Herculez, just because I'm an optimist.
ill let u know when sumtin important happens elknco. right now its just midfield passing. oh and half the field has football lines and the other half is nice and clean
cool thanks. sounds like a great field.. no doubt a devious ploy by the NER(d) management to induce epileptic seizures amongst the galaxy players. probably what caused ty's injury.. that'll be our story anywyas =/
NE with most of the possession these past few minues. Lot of short passes between the midfield and defenders. Hartman yet to be tested. Herculez has had a couple of runs at their defence and created a corner kick once, but other than that there hasn't been much offense for either team.
Herculez keeps playing like this and Jovan's going to have a lot of trouble getting a starting nod. Maybe at midfield?
37' No attempts on goal by either team. Most of the game being played in the middle third. Donovan pretty quiet after his assist.
HT 1-1. New England with most of the possession but their only shot comes from the PK. LA actually doing an ok job with the counter-attack and have had a few close chances after their first goal. The Galaxy are unlucky not to be ahead on this one.
Both boards seem to be just as dead as this game is I have to say, LA is looking more competant when actually attacking. New England is doing fine pinging it around the midfield, but LA is the team that actually looks dangerous out there.
This is definatly not what you'd call attacking soccer. Nobody seems to be really hustling out there. I imagine most of the players are pretty spent after the game against DC, not to mention Donovan from the Gold Cup. Not having 3 subs in the upcoming half to bring in fresh legs could really hurt the Galaxy.
