what are peoples expectations for this game> since there is no Puig playing I only see this as cash grab game, and nothing more, if this was an early preseason, I would feel different, it would be a preview of what we have to look forward to and to see new acquisitions playing in Galaxy colors for the first time and there is no guarantee the squad that trots out there tomorrow will be close to the team that starts the new season. The only reason I can think of for people to watch is they live and breathes the Galaxy, and this is one more game to see the Galaxy before the long break, so I guess that's reason enough for the hardcore fans
I expect that Vanney will give more playing time to players he thinks have a future with the team (with the caveat that Paintsil and Puig won't be available), so this game might still offer a bit of a preview. On the other hand, if he starts Berry and Zavaleta, we'll know that he is treating this like one of those Herbalife postseason tours when Beckham was on the team.
I don't really have much expectations for the match. The only real reason to watch was to see Puigee, but since he's out, it really will be to watch because it's on and it's the Galaxy. For any of the squad players who's guaranteed a spot next season, other than just natural competitiveness, I'd imagine part of them has already been in vacation mode. Young guys or players looking for their next contract will likely play hard though. But it's hard to say that this exhibition match will make or break someone's career because it is essentially just a cash grab.
good points, I think that is something I would be interested in as well, what type of line up and strategy will be implemented, I'm hoping he goes with the young guys to see what they can do, I know we had a small glimpse of this during the season and I thought those games were far more competitive than the game during the losing streak with the "A" team. If vanney goes the unproven player route, I have hope that he is willing to modify his thought process and his strategy going into a new season and is going to try some new stuff, he may not have tried before and we can look at the new season with optimism, that things are changing. if vanney does go the Berry and Zavaleta, I would be disappointed but not surprised and it would give me a good indicator that nothing is going to change under vanney and we are in store for improvement over this past season but to expect this team to under perform (barring a big signing) next season.
Based on who is available, this looks like a lineup of players who we are in our plans. The missing players are Paintsil, Puig, Nelson, and Cerrillo, plus the players on YNT duty (Miller, Ramos Jr) Los XI 💫🔗: https://t.co/ma0oKILO2B pic.twitter.com/B6SbnRGwiz— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) November 16, 2025
He was away with the national team and got left off the squad for the games because of the injury or illness, so it's not like he was going to play with the Galaxy in a meaningless game.
it might be my stream but the Galaxy kits look a bit different, the stripes and the sash don't look as prominent as before of they're using a more see through material
Every time I see him on the field it makes me wonder why he isn't starting yet, or at least earning way more sub minutes.
The video stream quality per both my phone and TV is reported as being 720p. It looks much worse; not even 480p. The UCLA v Pepperdine stream on ESPN+ was much better. On the other hand, I wasn't expecting to be able to watch it so better than nothing.
entertaining first half at least, glad they didn't mail it in the first half and the logo on the youtube halftime screen, the blue and grey looks really nice, and it seems like they're incorporating that color scheme a bit more, I saw a nice hat earlier with the same color scheme
Kuntz said looking forward to playoff games in the Spring instead of winter. Also looking forward to having more games under a team's belt before champions league. Looking to bring a number of high quality players. Joe tried to get Kuntz to specify, but Will didn't bite.
Noticed that Zanka and Nascimento are not in the 18. I am guessing that they are not going to be on the roster next year which would free up a good amount of money from Zanka and a u22 slot for Nascimento.
thanks for the recap, so it was basically a word salad of nothingness, it's time for Kuntz to put up or shut up, he punted this season so the team would be competitive in 2026, actions speak louder than words
