I made the mistake of turning the U17 game against Charlotte off at halftime as I walked home from the gym. Now I can't get back anymore and Apple doesn't even show the game listing even though it's the second half.
I had the same thing happen. Turns out it's in weather delay Just kidding. We are now in a weather delay. https://t.co/96CjB8lL5a— Charlotte FC Academy (@academy_cltfc) June 24, 2024

I know, but just thought the Lumbees outside Charlotte may be fans of the team - and if the team need a rain delay, well... Although you ate probably right -- Native American rain dancers probably can’t summon deluges for areas other than their own.
Magana and Ramos named to the MLS Next Cup Best XI (all age groups) It may have been the playoffs but these ballers don’t play 😮💨Congratulations to the standout players named to the 2024 MLS NEXT Cup Best XI squad.#MLSNEXTCup | @adidasfootball pic.twitter.com/hzOLjnF5vY— MLS NEXT (@MLSNEXT) June 25, 2024 Taj Eagleston is a former LA Galaxy Academy player, but his success is probably a sign of the weakness/irrelvance of the U19 age group in MLS Next. Fewer MLS academies now enter their U19s in MLS Next with the existence of MLS Next Pro and a guy like Eagleston, who wasn't getting consistent time with the Galaxy Academy when he a year or so ago, is able to shine in a division where the couple of MLS Academies that did qualify didn't get out of group stage.
Owen Pratt, Pepe Magana and Mateo Tsakiris named to the MLS Next All Star Game. All U17 players. We have others who would have made it (e.g., Ramos), but they played MLS Next Pro either exclusively or all but in a few major tournaments Star showers expected over Columbus this month and you won’t even need a telescope to see ‘em. 🌟The third annual MLS NEXT All-Star Game pres. by Allstate heads to Arch City on July 23rd as 44 academy ballers shine live on https://t.co/yMJ1g9Yd7u.#MLSNEXTAllStar | @Allstate pic.twitter.com/yUwgplITlo— MLS NEXT (@MLSNEXT) July 2, 2024

As expected, Placias is going abroad the moment he was age eligible. He went to NCFC because they would pay him withuot having him sign a longer-term contract that would restrict his ability to move. Good luck, Juli 🌟 North Carolina FC has completed the international transfer of forward Julian Placias to Belgian @KVCWesterlo. We are so proud of Juli and wish him all the best in his future career!#LevelUp— North Carolina FC 🏆 (@NorthCarolinaFC) July 11, 2024
Not sure. Some kids have their heart set on Europe and they don’t want to do an MLSNP contract or playing level
The payments they get for transfers internationally under FIFA rules don't apply to domestic moves unless the national FA adopts its own domestic solidarity payments and training compensation system. I'm sure the Galaxy/VCFC agreed to a mutual termination of the contract to allow him to sign with SKC2. If he became a star and signed with a club abroad, though, we would be able to get training compensation on his first deal and solidarity payments on a future transfer. I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening though.
I am a little confused. I was referring to Julian Placias who went to NCFC and just signed with KVCWestero. I mentioned Klein not as a reference to Carson, but due to my possibly incorrect assumption that Placias left while Chris was still in charge and that just letting talented players just walk was something that the Kuntz era Galaxy tried to avoid.
Sorry about that. I had switched from the VCFC thread here and still had the Klein move on my mind in my second response. So, the answer here should be Yes. If Placias signed a pro deal then the Galaxy should get training compensation (which is a few thousand dollars, so not much) and then solidarity payments in any subsequent transfer for a fee.
Tyson Wahl has been promoted to Director of the LA Galaxy Academy Wahl is the former general manager of the Austin FC Academy and was Manager of Domestic Scouting for the Galaxy
Another one who got away, but not for lack of trying. How? "but the primary goal of an academy is to develop first team talent and they still have a lot of room to grow on that front." I believe we've done a good deal towards that front, they even mention the loss of Albert, but that should be a sign of the success of the Academy, not its downfall.
England? Of course with a name like Chadwick, but still. England U16 look set to call up Edward Chadwick of LA GALAXY 👀 🏴 The right back will make his debut with games against Ukraine & France He has represented the USA already 🤝⬇️https://t.co/vzCuVVWeES pic.twitter.com/8g0w4Lnutk— TheSecretScout (@TheSecretScout_) September 18, 2024
