So, they're playing after all. The field looks horrible, from what I can see in the pregame preparations. This is ridiculous...and Pape Diouf is pissed. Ha. Anyway, here we go. Hopefully nobody gets hurt. Allez l'OM.
Taiwo's playing in short sleeves Hilton too. A Nigerian and a Brazilian. Anyway, Taiwo's playing very well. Everyone's having a hard time staying up on the slippery surface.
But de Samassa! Valbu sends Zenden forward, and Zenden sends in a great right footed cross, which Samassa rises to head home. 1-0.
Valbuena!! Ziani and Bonnart with some really nice play between each other, Bonnart gets open to send in a good cross, which he does, finding Valbuena in the center of the penalty area. Valbuena doesn't quite hit it perfectly, but it's good enough. 2-0.
I think the best thing to come out of this game is that nobody had a season ending injury. The pitch was pathetic. I was basically waiting for someone to go down for good all game. The pitch hurt the overall flow of the game. We dominated 75% of this match, yet it never really felt like we were that in control.
It finished 2-0, a good result in tough conditions. And the final whistle just blew in Lyon, Lorient held them to a 1-1 draw. That brings the deficit to 4 points.
Yea, I think that's just the nature of this team, especially without a great striker. I mean, even considering that we were pretty dominant throughout, Mandanda still had to make a couple huge saves, and Auxerre missed a couple other good chances.
Yup, its quite exciting at the moment in Ligue 1. I cant believe St. Etienne is as bad as they are. I wanted Gomis for us so bad in the offseason.
good start to the second half of the season, competition is getting stiff, which is good. then 2 games SHOULD be easy
Agreed. I'm embarrassed to say that I thought they had a halfway decent shot at a CL spot this season.
