what the player need is a coach that can motivate them to play with more huevos....tienen que ponerle mas gara...beacuase those first 2 games were sad 2 see how they lost without putting up a fight...another thing i think the coach should do is give benitez more freedom 2 rotate in the offenses as he please as he does in santos...the best candidate that i would see at the time is the coach from liga..his name scapes me at the time....but considering a handfull of the player are from liga...he would know his boys....also can someone give alexander dominguez a chance....his gone about 700 minutes without receiving a goal...and the way he kicks that ball with power and precion...i saw todays game against olmedo and his goal kicks were actual passes on the other side....campos should be udlc replacement...

Ecuador were fighting big time. It was not until the second goal that Ecuador gave up. Our subs did not help as well.

Hurtado did not play last night because he was suspended after his second yellow card in Brazil!

    Buena pregunta.

whether our players will admit it or not, we have been demoralized ever since the Copa America when we lost to Chile...I'm sure they've wanted him out for the longest time just like us, he's been a cauldron of bad decisions ever since we left Germany. We have capable defenders and Guagua is actually good as the rest of the defenders except bagui, they were all just playing without heart because of Suarez, he clearly bought a lot of drama on board the past few months....now that he's out I'm sure we'll see a better team playing against Peru...the reality is that when you see the captain (Mendez) play a deflated game against Paraguay, there's a problem thats not skill based...its all mentality and Mendez along with Castillo and even Benitez were all out of the game because of the coach...thats my theory and I'm sticking to it

Actually I think the demoralization stems all the way back to the game against Germany, where he made the decision to "play it safe" and not "play to win".

..but enough about the past! Let's look forward to a bright future with Vizuete. :)

    SUAREZ IS GONE.... THANK GOD..

I would like to see an Argentine European or Ecuadorian (Aguinaga), even a Paraguayan coaching the team now.

The ONLY Colombian I would contemplate would be El Bolillo, because he's the one that made the team great and gave us that winning attitude and left it like that with Suarez.. what did Suarez do.... he made bad decisions that little by little deteriorated the team and got us into the present condition.

With all this turmoil I doubt we beat Peru, which we almost surely always beat.. or if not tie with. They are going to take full advantage of the psychological situation we are in now. And they would be smart to do so.

not to start a fight but Bollio sucks and is worse than Suarez

Bollio is a coward because in 2002, Ecuador was beating Mexico and then bunked and lost, same with Italy he is a bad coach

and why would u want a paraguayan coach ??? they have an Argie coach.

U guys need a Argie coach cause dunga sucks.

As for whats happening to Ecaudor u guys have never been an away team u guys got by because you made Quito scared and no one could take points from you. Quito was scared because all ur players play'd their and now they are in europe or mexico and that is what is effecting your team.

wonder why ecuadorian teams are no longer doing well in Copa Lib/Sudamericana? Since 2006 ur players went to europe and since then ur clubs havent done well

in 2006 Liga went to the quarterfinals...it's a bit premature to start calling things the way you are...the reason why our teams didn't do well has nothing to do because all our players went to Europe, it might have to do with the parity among South American teams more than anything with Colombia making a comeback, Venezuela starting to make strides into competitiveness and Chile also coming back into form...the fact of the matter is that increased competitiveness means that there will be worsening results for some others...we just need a change of mentality and a good fire under our ass.
Aside from Brazil and Argentina, I'd make the claim that no other team in South America is an away team...maybe Paraguay might be, MAYBE...there are 2 clear powerhouses and the rest of the countries are up in the air for those last 3 spots
we need a GOOD coach, it doesn't matter if he's Argentinian, Brazilian, Uruguayan, Dutch, German or even Israeli...who the hell cares where he's from as long as he can produce good results
