Odd that sp*rs are finalizing Solanke as Richarlison says he is staying and not going to Saudi Arabia. I assumed he was the replacement.

Maybe the Cherries take that cash and make an offer for Nketiah?

No problem. Unless of course he suddenly and miraculously becomes an ironman injury-wise.

I thought I heard that the league was going to try to change their rules to limit that "loophole". Or was that just theoretical hope & conjecture?

I believe they did. They can only spread the fee over 5 years, not the 10 year contracts Chelsea were used for Mudryk et. al.

Per George Bird, recent addition Tommy Setford could end up being the first team’s third choice keeper when Hein goes on loan.

“The England youth international now appears to be part of the first-team squad, with his name having been listed in the dressing room at Emirates Stadium.”

So Arsenal’s remaining transfer needs are a #2 keeper when Ramsdale leaves, a youngish #6 if/when Partey leaves and a forward, preferably able to play across the front line, to replace Nketiah.

Solanke will score lots of golazo. Spurs are steadily getting the right players in attack with EPL proven players. The only issue is their defence and Ange never defending a lead, something Mikel is great at.

Yeah I think Solanke may be a bit of a coup for them. On one of the Arse podcasts someone was talking about Nketiah in the same sentence as Solanke, basically saying if Bournemouth can get 65MM for him, then we should get more than 30MM for Eddie. That didn't quite ring true with me... I think there's a sizable gulf in quality between the two, at least in terms of what they both have actually demonstrated in the last season or two.

    Solanke is bang average

strikes me as a mid table player who stands out because everything goes through him

wait till he’s playing sides that respect spurs

That is a silly take. Solanke us waay more diverse than Nketiah.

I disagree. I think Solanke being double of Nketiah's worth (which is what they said in the pod) is about right. The fbref comparison of the two would actually say not quite double.

also big club premium whereas failed player flogged off to small club doesn’t attract big club tax.

    Thank jeebus.

Neto sucks, and is perpetually injured.

Not allowed anymore, iirc. Think the max is five years now even if the contract is longer.

EDIT: I see this has been covered already.

United rumored to be offering £50m for Evan Ferguson. Don't think they get it done at that price and Chelsea are rumored to also be interested. As they are everyone including Osimhen. United already have Hojlund and Zirkzee, Chelsea probably have 7 other strikers on their roster.

Ferguson seems like a better fit at Arsenal than Osimhen, who has really only had one elite season in 4 at Napoli. Osimhen would expect to start and play a lot right away whereas Ferguson could be eased into the rotation over time.

I am amazed whenever anyone agrees to go to Chelsea, unless you are a big name you aren't a guaranteed starter and you are highly likely to get lost in the shuffle. And their track record of developing talent is pretty poor. Palmer was talented, I don't think he had his season due to Chelsea I think it was in spite of the management.

If he gets 10 league goals I'll be surprised.

Richarlison missed a lot of games and he still managed 11 last season in the league, if Solanke starts most games which I assume he will he will easily score 10+, only injuries will stop him. Spuds generate chances, last season they had no one to finish them.

You seem to be forgetting Son, he had more league goals (17) than any Arsenal player and matched Odegaard in assists(10). Even though he plays for Sp*rs you have to respect him as a player.

Son wasn't really a striker though, Solanke is and Richarlison was in the games I saw.
If Solanke starts he probably steals goals from Richarlison, I don't think he takes many off Son because their roles in the team aren't the same.

Son is gonna be washed up at some point as he heavily relies on pace

they don’t scare me, I don’t rate solanke as as a top level forward and I think he’s another Darren bent for them

kula isn’t great either. Not really bothered about their team, Archie gray is a talent but I don’t k own of he’s ready this year

OM upped their bid for Wahi. I'd probably prefer Wahi at roughly equal value as well, he wasn't as productive last season but had 19g the season prior at Montpelier.
