Oostende finished a respectable 5th last season but have been as average as average can be this season. They seem to have a decent squad with a bulk of the players in the early-to-mid 20’s. This feels like a good fit for Duncan. He’s the “steady Eddie” type and I expect him to settle in sooner than later. It sounds like he can play right away. The club is also owned by American, Chein Lee the biggest shareholder in Barnsley and has has shares in Nancy, Den Bosch, Thus, and Esbjerg.
This is the classic situation for an MLS fullback who wants to get paid. Duncan made less than $100K in 2021, and even if he gets a raise, there's still a clear ceiling in how high MLS clubs go in compensating their fullbacks.
