3rd Degree is reporting on Twitter that the youth international, who was at Southampton, is available in a lottery today. Haven't seen it reported anywhere else.
RSL won the lottery for him http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2009/04/kyle-davies-heading-to-real-salt-lake.html
The fact that Southampton is about to be relegated to League One probably has something to do with it too.
I wonder if RSL might trade him. They have Borchers and Olave as starters and last year's first round pick, David Horst, as a reserve at center back. That's not a huge amount of depth but if Davies was looking for some place where he'd get first team minutes right away, RSL probably aint the place.
They'll be moving a senior roster player to a developmental spot in order to accomodate Davies. When Espindola arrives they will need to make another move - a cut, trade or more likely a player on loan to a USL-1 team. They likely have a couple of weeks for this.
Did the Espindola deal get done in the transfer window? The press release from MLS did not list him as one of the players who was signed.
That was classic - and then to see him wearing the hat and holding the scarf - his face the whole time was classic. And I liked how like 3 or 4 balls popped out of the machine and they scrambled on the floor. Can anyone find a link to that? I would love to see it again.
I sure hope so. As a player who will most likely be starting for the US at the U-20 World Cup, I would hope he would get some minutes. Shea, Bowen, Wallace, and Cruz are already having a tough time.
Looked very ordinary the few times I saw him. Limited technical ability and passing in those matches. Looked very old world English/US college in his play. Will be surprised if he makes an impact any time soon.
Can't find the video but here's a pic... Someone forgot to tell Danny to turn that frown upside down.
According to the reports out of the UK compensation was paid. I assume it was modest, but it probably helped somewhat with their financial situation.
