We can’t get angry at Varane. Even if he has a perfect game, we only win 1-0 which isn’t enough. The attack is to blame (or the team for losing at home in the first leg). Out of interest when is the last time we lost at home and ended up winning the tie? I can only remember the losses - Liverpool back when they had Torres, and Arsenal when they had Henry.
Well Toni we needed three goals; two if we were going to actually keep a clean sheet..... so even without Varane playing horribly we would still have been out.
