That 12m figure is false but multiple websites took it and ran with it at the time it came out. The real one is believed to be around 8m.

Eh, rumors have Kroos being offered something between 6-8m. If it's 8m he got offered more than a fair deal, 6m is too low. But it's not about being fair or not, you guys were offering double or close to double and money talks. No issue with that because Bayern have done the same to other players.

Kroos' contract paying him that sum was signed well before Thiago or anyone else. This was basically Kroos' first big number contract. Madrid 12m before taxes, Bayern 6m before taxes(or 8m, unclear on that). So you could have been paying double what we offered.
So you guys showed him appreciation by low balling him? It's one thing to low ball a guy and at least own that your club did it and it is another thing to low ball then attack the guy when he leaves for being "money hungry" when half your team is only wearing your shirt because of earlier "starvation".
