This story isn't getting much attention, but it is pretty significant nonetheless. Jason Kreis is one goal away from tying Roy Lassiter's record of 88 career goals. MLS is still a young league, so the records aren't very important, yet. But this number is pretty important and will probably be hard to break, seeing as any young player who scores lots of goals is getting offers from overseas. I don't think Lassiter's mark of 88 goals is as difficult as say Hank Aaron's home run record (Hank is the one who holds that right?), but 88 can probably be compared to hitting 500 career home runs in baseball. This surely solidifies Kreis' place as one of the best forwards MLS has ever seen.
It probably isn't getting much news because Dallas has been dragging the bottom of the table much of the time. Obviously his contribution has been significant, but a team's play often affects how much attention individual records get too.
