It was on the SportsCenter on ESPN that immediately followed the game (6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT, 8 a.m. Melbourne time for me here).

They showed the clip in the second half of the show, and the newsreader (Dana Jacobsen, I think?) acknowledged that it was a pretty nice goal, and mentioned the record, too.

Wow. Imagine what they would have done if they didn't hate soccer so much.

I loved the little piece on sportscenter. they had the kreis stuff, and then they showed the Eskandarian goal, except it wasn't eskandarian, it was "eskikakarion."

Both goals from the game made the SportsCenter Top 10 for the Sunday Morning edition. Esky's at #8 I think, and Kreis' at #2.

For all the ******** ESPN gets around here, soccer has been making strong showings in the Top 10 for the past 8-12 months. It used to be you never saw soccer during then, now I'm not surprised to see a soccer highlihgt at least once a week. Progress...

And just about nightly during EURO 2004, too.

Which makes it all the more likely for them to show the odd MLS highlight as a piggyback.
