Jason Koumas has turned down what was reportedly a one-year extension and salary improvement to his four-year contract at West Bromwich Albion. http://icbirmingham.icnetwork.co.uk/baggies/ Perhaps it's understandable that Jason would prefer to hone his skills in the Premiership, especially if he wants to compete for a regular place in the constantly-improving Wales squad. My hope is that he can see that Albion can well be a Premiership club with his help. But no doubt his opting not to extend his contract could be a signal for other clubs to try to swoop in for him. Perhaps I can understand what Tranmere Rovers fans were feeling a year ago.
Good news, bad news The good news: Koumas would like very much to stay at West Bromwich Albion. The bad news: The terms for the contract improvement Albion offered him two weeks ago weren't quite what he was looking for. http://www.expressandstar.com/artman/publish/article_44693.php
