KosovO is not a nation, thus they can't have a national team.

Puerto Rico is not a nation, neither is the US Virgin Islands, I doubt that the Faroe Islands have nation status. There are Several other "territories, and such" that are not independent nations that are recognized by FIFA.

Kosova should be a nation. They speak Albanian and are therefore nothing to do with Serbia (apart from being claimed by Serbia), and feel no affinity to Belgrade. I am Scottish, and we are allowed to compete, so why not Kosova? They have more of a reason linguistically and ethnically than a lot of nations.

I deliberately used KosovA, as that is the native Albanian name for the territory. KosovO is Serbian.

Who cares what the native Albanian name for it is?

The region is Serbian, thus you should use it's real name Kosovo when reffering to it in English as that is it's official name. And even that is incorrect, because the whole region is called Kosovo and Metohija.

When you are discussing it with your Albanian friends in Albanian, you can call it whatever you want.

As far as the Kosovo having nothing to do with Serbia comment, all that shows is how ignorant you are about the subject.

Honestly I don’t know why the Serbs want to have anything to do with Kosovo.

If Kosovo was reintegrated in Serbia the president of Serbia in 10 years time would be called

    Hasim Taqi.

Who cares what the native Albanian name is? THE ****ing NATIVE PEOPLE, FOR GOD'S SAKE! YOU THINK THEY WANT TO HAVE A SERBIAN NAME?

The region is Serbian. DOES IT WANT TO BE THOUGH?

As far as being ignorant goes, I will not comment. I am perfectly capable of researching the topic, and would not have posted if I didn't know what I was talking about. Serbia has not treated Kosova fairly. Why wasn't it given republic status like Montenegro, which is much smaller? Banning the speaking of Albanian, etc, etc. This is not good, no matter what way you look at it. Anyway, this argument is getting WAY too political, and that is NOT the point of this tournament, it is to allow teams to play football without involving ****ing politics, so let's leave it that way. You gonna deny the right of these people to represent who they feel pride for, deep inside? I imagine you feel Serbian and did even in Yugoslav days. Kosovans do not in any way feel Serbian, and there is absolutely no way you or anyone can change that feeling, just like nobody can change your Serbian national pride.

By the way, Northern Cyprus beat Sápmi 6-2 in the final match to win the tournament. Kosova finished second.

You don't get it do you?

When KosovO officially become independent or part of Albania, they can call it whatever the ******** they want. Until then, the name is KosovO.

    Albanians are the NATIVE people?

How so? Because there is more of them than Serbs? So I guess whites are the Native Americans, because there's more whites in the U.S.A. than the NATIVE Americans?

Serbs are the native people of Kosovo, not Albanians, so stop talking out of your ass, man.

    Thanks.

Okay guys - as entertaining as this is, it seems that the tournament is over now......let's keep the politics out of it.

FWIW - I have strong feelings on both sides of the issue.
