Its been confirmed that Korea's Mens National Team will be making a highly anticipated pit stop in California From January 7th to January 28th. The schedule thus far: vs Costa Rica 1/16/2005 vs USA 1/22/2005 vs Colombia 1/26/2005 Id really like to know where the U.S. and Korea will be playing. Note: Ahn...the guy who did the skate routine, wont be making the trip as he was injured pretty bad during a qualifier. Also not making the trip is the majority of the foreign based players like Seol, Park Ji Sung, Cha Doo Ri, and Lee Young Pyo.
I would imagine that it would be at the Home Depot Center, as that is where the USMNT training camp will be.
Good point. Whats USA going to look like in January? Donovan, Beasley, Friedelman, etc. gonna be available?
No, it'll be pretty much the same as the Korea team, pretty much an experimental all domestic (MLS) side.
HOPE the USA & Colombia friendlies are at the HDC. I willl DEFINITELY go to both!! It doesn't matter that neither national team will bring their "A" team. It's an opportunity to see new players & evaluate their performances and where they fit, if at all, into the national team. Korean women & Colombian women & soccer at the HDC?? I must've died & gone to heaven!! CAN'T WAIT until January!!
They will probably be availible, but Bruce won't call them in since they will be in the middle of their club season. Arena doesn't tend to call in Euro-based players for friendlies that are west of the Mississippi, but I imagine you will be seeing the cream of MLS.
I like games between these two teams. Good history...and pretty good east-west rivalry going on here. Ill say a tie or a game of 1-0, to Korea.
Whenever the name "Korea" is referenced, it's concerning South Korea... which isn't a communist nation.
Problably see guys like GAM Eski Gaven Magee Olsen Califf Giibs Pope Albright Dempsey Spector (if still ay ManU) Ching Zavagnin Keller (RSL hopefully) Cannon Martino etc.etc. Basicly a lot of MLS guys the Bruce wants to look at more for possible intergration into the squad for the hex, and for guys as cover for injuries.
Using this list, here's what I'd like to see v Korea: ----------------------------------Cannon--------------------------------- Albright---------------Pope-------------------Gibbs----------------Spector ---------------------------------Zavagnin-------------------------------- --Gaven--------------------------------------------------------Dempsey-- ----------------------------------Martino--------------------------------- ----------------GAM-----------------------------Ching-------------------- Subs: Olsen, Magee, & Eskanderian. This group would IMHO be a VERY solid group & should give a good account of themselves in a friendly. In other words, I wouldn't expect the performance that the USMNT gave in the Denmark friendly in the HDC last January. I'm looking forward to this Korea friendly. Should be fun!!
