    26/03/08 in Pyongyang

Got to admit this game interests me lol... considering techincally these countrys are still at war..

Would they allow away travels to travel..... as FIFA regulations say they have too

And would anyone from South Korea actully go??

Anyway should be an interesting match.... wonder if they will play it the same place the Olyroos played.... fark that looked cold.

^ Pyongyang it was, yeah it would have been bloody freezing. It was sub zero temperatures. There was about 30,000 people there, all of them from the Korean army, dressed in their uniform.

Korea Rep - Korea DPR isn't a crazy hate filled rivalry. The only ones fighting each other are the administrations (eg. which flag to use, other useless bickering).

however, i am definitely going to watch this game as it will be the first ever game the republic has played the Norks in their own ground.

North Korea want to play the unified Korean anthem before the game instead of seperate ones, but South Korea want to use their own flag and their own anthem.

    Poor form by SK, IMO.

    How is that poor form

whenever DPR come to korea, they always get to play their anthem and whatnot, and are treated very well by the locals.

    friggen Norks always ungrateful

and its a FIFA Competitive match, so FIFA rules

    it'll be a fun match..
but in all honesty, SK is always spanking the North.

The North has some pretty decent players right now so we'll see how it goes..
I don't even know if the SK Euro-based players are going to return for this match.

good point north korea actually was ahead of Japan for a good while and considering they were away that is pretty impressive.
but as someone above mentioned the real animosity is between the governments and not between the people so its not as big a rivalry as we played it out to be.but i mean come on any asian soccer fan could imagine what the tension would be like on that field, definitely an interesting match

No argument about that. I was hoping for Japan's victory, but my wish was
denied. Let me point out one thing, however.

The match was in China, not in Japan. So both Japan and North Korea were
in neutral stage. Neither team was in away, so to speak.

In fact, I saw some news in Yahoo! Japan that Chinese audiences were booing
at Japan and cheering for North Korea, but I haven't been able to verify this
through other sources. Anybody know more about this?

South Korea is whole lot better team. N. Korea isn't the rival of South Korea.
