2-0 Lee Dong Guk... To be Honest..Seol Ki Hyun did most of the work..he just taped in..LOL But gotta give him the credit for being there at the right time.
At least Lee Dong-guk can tap in. Unlike a former footballer who retired from international football in light of severe criticism who shall remain nameless but we all know who it is anyways...
Ball possession: Korea-97% Maldive:3% Shooting: Maldive-0!!! Lee Woon Jae is probably cooking Korean BBQ and having Soju...while waiting for the game to finish.
Maldives didn't even tried to attack by putting only 1 offensive player but We could've and should've scored more goals Ahn Jung-hwan's injury seems pretty bad and he's out for about two months!! Now we have to worry about the final qualifiers.
it was nice and all that we got the win, but still... a little bit disheartening... we should of crushed the little buggers even if they played with 10 men in defence. it's not like they prevented us from having scoring chances...
I figure we better get used to these unfortunate circumstances for a while because Jo Bonfrere will have a hard time rounding up players ( esp those Euros' ) for a descent practice. I suppose our team game will improve over due course but once February 9th rolls along, it's all up to the K-Leaguers' current form after the league is over with this year. Meanwhile, I suggest Jo Bonfrere start re-formatting his list of players. Ridiculous how he spent little or no time visiting K1 and K2 games for new recruitments. Once again, great job to the KFA for sacking Coelho - now Jo Bonfrere has to start from scratch again when Coelho could've completed a new-generation team by now. BTW, I was actually thinking about immigrating to Japan after our 1st half performance
maybe you can try out the KFA's homepage; but I know that there's a friendly against Germany at home (again) sometime during next month.
Germany game's in Busan on December 16th (I think). These are the rough dates for the final round of World Cup qualifying: Match 1 - 9th Feb 2005 Match 2 - 26th March 2005 Match 3 - 31st March 2005 Match 4 - 4th June 2005 Match 5 - 11th June 2005 Match 6 - 17th August 2005
playing against teams that play with such a ridiculous amount of players in front of the goal is not a good indication of anything.... I am just glad that this phase of the qualifiers is over so good teams can actually play real football... or at least some better version of football in the next round. I didn't get to see the Korea match, but congrats to Korea for making it through. The day of reckoning for the next round, drawings are December 9? I think, for groups for the next round.
