A friendly before the Asian games. Last game in 1993, 3-0 to the South. Can anyone give use the lineups?
No lineups, but some insight into the north Korean soccer team and a bit of historical background. I'm actually very interested in seeing how the north's women's team does in the Asian Games. http://english.joins.com/Article.asp?aid=20020905234056&sid=600
That will be insteresting as in the semifinal match of the Asian Women's championships here in Chinese Taipei, North Korea upset the favored Chinese on their way to the gold medal. I think China would like to avenge that defeat. I hope I will be able to watch that match here.
The only reason south Korea won't beat the north by at least 5 goals is that they won't want to embarrass them too much. I think they'll also go easy and perhaps the north will even score a goal just to save face. south 4:1 north
Broadcast in NYC!!! If you're in NYC and have Time Warner Cable, the match will be aired LIVE on The Korean Channel (76), 6:00am EST! Even if you're not in NYC, you can watch the webcast at www.tkc76.com. The connection is usually very good.
Possible starting line-up for South [3-4-3] FW: Lee Chun-soo*(Ulsan) Lee Dong-gook(Pohang) Choi Tae-uk*(Anyang) MF: Hyun Young-min*(Ulsan) Lee Young-pyo*(Anyang) Kim Doo-hyun(Suwon) Park Kyu-seon(Ulsan) DF: Cho Sung-hwan(Suwon) Park Yo-seb(Anyang) Choi Jin-chul*(Chonbuk) GK: Lee Woon-jae*(Suwon) *: WC member
Re: Broadcast in NYC!!! NIIIIICE!!!!! Although I don't know if I'll be able get up or stay up till 6. Geez, like the World Cup all over again.
Re: Broadcast in NYC!!! For those of you in Japan, NHK is broadcasting the match (taped) at midnight on BS1. Amazing that a match which doesnt involve Japan is being carried by NHK, but I guess that just shows that the people (or should I say the multiple-personality-disorder person) who was claiming that Japanese are not interested in Korean football dont know what the &#$!! theyre talking about. Im really looking forward to it, so dont spoil the score for me (Just joking. I wont be tuning in to this thread again until after Ive seen it. ) Good luck to both teams, although I predict that Korea will win
Ok, I've stayed up all night. I got 42 mins till the game starts. I am ************in tired. Oops, I shouldn't have cursed. Oh well. Coffee?
I've been up all night as well and am just tuning in to the internet broadcast. Some guy is singing in a strange looking white outfit. Seems like a nice fan turnout as well.
I'm watching the match right now... ..can anyone tell me if Kim Nam-Il is in the SK squad? Who's the captain, btw? It's a bit blurry...
Re: I'm watching the match right now... i don't see kim nam-il. the sk captain appears to be lee dong-guk.
Yeah... ...I just saw Lee DG with the armband. Hmmm..commercial break. Is it the end of the first half already? I wasn't really paying attention to the clock. I don't think Kim Nam-il is in the starting line-up. Is he on the bench?
The KBS1 live link is also broadcasting the match. Instead of cutting to commercial during half time, they did a live interview with Guus Hiddink... and they're just now cutting to commercial.
final: 0-0 Korea a diplomatic tie BOOOOOOoooOOOOOOooooOOOOO. N. Korea is definitely underranked in the FIFA rankings. If they got out more I'd think they'd be on China/Kuwait level at least. Also it didn't hurt that they were playing 10 men behind the ball, but they got their fair share of chances.
