Let's avoid an embarrasment! And make the occasion count. We've had a rocky qualification road but what happens here may be the true guage of how our team's doing.

Unfortunately, there is a good chance of us getting embarassed at home against Germany.

Well eihter way it'll reflect the true level of Korea's football at this time. For better or for worse.
Remember, Germany beat Iran and under Klinsmann have yet to lose a match.

Germany is not a good team now. You guys need more confidence on your team. True, it is pretty bad only win 2:0 against Maldaves whoever, but there are highs or lows. Currently, Germany's full national team defense line is around 20-22 years old without fast foot speed, and there are only few good players in the midfield. Just beat them.

    Agreed.
Germany sucks ass. Ballack, Kahn and possibly Klose and Scheinder are the only bright spots. Its gonna be interesting to see how the Koreans will score a goal againest Kahn.

Confidence is one thing, arrogance is something else entirely.

Im willing to bet good coin that Germany even in its current state is still leaps ahead of the top three in Asia.

If you think Germany sucks, then you should probably take those rose tinted shades off when you watch Korea plays.

    Weve been pretty horrible.

Germany's got some good youngsters coming up, and it's not lost a single match under Klinsmann.
Philip Lahm and Arne Friedriech are full backs who also add a counter attacking option to the German tactics. Watch the two because they are good.
Also the latest addition is Aston Villa's Thomas Hitzlsperger and this guy is also a great talent. Not yet been able to put up the kind of performance he has a few times for Villa but once he's settled in he's going to be something special. Look out for his powerful left footed rocket of a shot.
Basically, Germany's on the bounce back.
Also not only is there Klose but there's also Kuranyi and Schweinsteiger's not bad either.

I only recognize Klose, so I'll comment only on him. Choi Yongsu of Germany. Great against only one opponent--Saudi Arabia. Did absolutely nothing after that game in WC2002.

I hate when people say it's bad we only beat a certain team by a certain amount...horrible analysis and comparisons come from those results...im not knocking on u specifically Shaster but im knocking on many of the korea forum writers here...
U PLAY THE TEAM THAT'S ON YOUR SCHEDULE!!! if u win by 2 then u get 3 points.....if u win by 7 u get three points...u can't say "we shuold kill a team like maldives by 10 goals" because many factors come into play FOR THAT GAME ONLY...
u can not make goals scored against an oppenet as a gauge for how good or bad u r....when S.A lost 8-0 to Ger that doesnt mean S.A. is a bad as they looked that night...and Germany isnt as good as they were that night...
SO DONT SAY BEATING MALDIVES BY 2 GOALS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
LOSING A MATCH TO MALDIVES IS UNACCEPTABLE..there is a difference..

yes i agree a win is a win, but the expectation of the KNT should be higher in my opinion then the 02 squad. reason is most of the players are now more experienced. although we lost Hong and Hwang, we should be able to beat most, if not all the teams in Asia. We have the talent (in the k-league/1/2 and aboard), it just a matter of boner tinkering with the squad and scouting new blood. we only managed a 2-0 victory over Maldives with goals in the 2nd half with our "best players." it's not something to be proud about, if I was the manager of the KNT I would have considered it a loss.

germany will be a tough opponent, i think we'll either win by a goal (1-0, 2-1) or draw.

Also guys, Ahn Jung Hwan is out with injury and so is Yoo Sang Chul, it will take 3-4 weeks at least for Yoo Sang Chul to make a come back, I think Ahn will play a big role against European Teams, so now we are without our most creative forward

Germany is beatable. But right now Korea is not playing good in my opinion. But I think these friendly matches will be good for them to become in a good shape again.

Good look to Korea against Germany. Hope you guys defeat them!

Klose is good(especially in header cause his very tall) but If I was Bonfrere, I would keep an eye on Kevin Kuyanyi.

The match against Germany will be Bonfrere's toughest match by far since his appointment on the eve of Asia Cup 2004. Sure we've had a rocky road to qualification and the results haven't been desireable, but there's all to play for against Germany. With that said, let's not forget that this is a Germany still revolutionizing itself after that dismal run in Portugal 2004. There's still the drama of Kahn vs Lehmann unfolding and despite that headache for Klinsmann, his men have been getting results. Against Cameroon and Brazil in Germany as well as Iran (a side that knocked us out of Asia Cup 2004). There's not much wisdom in betting against Germany to produce a quality result against Korea provided our boys do some of their homework, study the tapes and find an effective way in containing Kuranyi and co. First and foremost, Germany is Germany. There's a certain way that country plays its football and I'm not talking about the stupid stereotypical comments about it being efficient like their cars and such. But unlike sides such as Italy or even Spain, the Germans compose themselves and play with enough emotion to win the game but not to the level where they start to self-destruct. I would reckon that come December, we may run into a German side that is finally finding some consistent form. I find it difficult to predict a win for us as much as my heart would like me to do so.

I'm telling you duders that we'll win. I all of a sudden feel clairvoyant and I predict we'll win.

We'll kill two birds with one stone by avenging our world Cup defeat AND against Klinsmann who scored against our team in '94. :D

Actually, I think Klose is only about 182cm, which is only an average height for a striker I think... for comparison, Lee Dong Gook is 184cm and Seol Ki Hyeon is from 185 to 187 (not sure, I've heard conflicting numbers on this).

However, Klose has excellent heading accuracy and well as jump, and that was why he looked above anyone else on Saudi team in that WC game. He's good all around though, don't let his world cup header-fest mislead you... before the WC, most of his goals were from his feet. He's also very agile (I've heard he's a former gymnast).

guys to definitely look out for Germany are Kuranyi, Ballack and the young phenom Bastian Schweinsteiger. I see tremendous talent in him.

Klose did not score all those headers because he is tall, he is a striker and he is a player that gets in right positions well, thats why he was able to score those headers
