    Korea vs. Argentina

    My Suggestions:
    Foremost, (everyone will hate me for saying this) but take out Lee, Woon-Jae... he's getting old, we're preparing for the next world cup, judging from the current young keepers, they could use the experience, also, W J Lee seems like he's complacent and his fitness is getting worse, maybe this can motivate him.

    Secondly, if Park Ji-Sung is unhealthy, I'd like to see Choi Tae-Uk... he might be injured, but if he isn't, what is Coelho thinking? T U Choi provides an offensive spark and certainly a sense of creativity in attack

    Thirdy, don't let Lee, Chun-Soo be the "spark off the bench" forever! It's obvious Korea needs better finishing.. at least CS Lee seems to be the only guy missing reasonably, if Seol continues his brilliant play (which he has if anyone has noticed), then he and Cha will find him

    Also: Just wanna say Kim Tae-Young is the MVP no doubt thus far post-WC... he's 32 right now but judging from his fitness, i wouldn't be surprised to see him in 2006,

    and did u know Choong-Kyun Park (22, the only good new player) is going to turn 30 this month! He's a lot older than he looks.

    Choi Tae-Uk plays kick and chase. That kinda of soccer is now too old, even for Korea...
    He needs to learns some new techniques off Lee Yong-Pyo if he wants to get anywhere.

    Lets give the Argies a sound thrashing to make up for our abysmal display of finishing against Uruguay. I'm not going to be happy with anything less than a win even if the Argentine NT is on a roll.

    to be honest i don't think we did bad at all against uruguay. defense was worse than our finishing but heck, defense and finishing were our pain-in-da-@ss since the early/mid 90's. And to be honest i think we are better off than zico-japan as of the moment. If we continue to press the argies and start our regular starters unlike the uruguay match and given that the argies are a bit tired, i don't think a win is all that of a big thing.

    Seol = back injury.
    Song = asked for rest.
    Park J.S= Injury.
    Ahn = Military.
    Choi Y.S = Groin injury.

    absense of Ahn and Choi who would be lone striker than?

    Unless Injuried Seol plays again (He played with injury on Uruguay match), my guess is Cha D.R and Lee C.S start.
    Don't forget Cha D.R was never played on Pro level till 02-03 season.. He is a still rookie with 1 year of bench exprience. I still think He would be good player with more exprience.

    I also think that it's not that big of a deal that Korea lost. Just because they lost a friendly doesn't mean there's a reason to jump the gun. And I agree that Korea played pretty well... they were missing some key players for either most of, or the entire match.
    However, it is somewhat disturbing their lack of efficiency near the goal. And perhaps worse is that there's only been one goal during Coelho's reign (Ahn vs. Japan). Perhaps it questions his lone striker system?
    Also, if we are going to lose, we should make sure the younger and PROMISING players get work in. I don't think this is a time to start plugging in Olympic squad players even if they probably won't be significant in 2006.
    Ahh, the thing I wanted to say was... I like how Korea is playing, they are developing a fresh style from the aspect of world football which is uniquely Korean. The pressure and work ethic seems to be defining them now. I just hope the same isn't to be said about the bad finishing and lack of goal-scorers.

    I wish they'd put two up top. Finishing is crap as it is, why have just one forward?

    Proposed lineup:
    GK: Kim Yong-Dae (be patient, needs exp. for '06)
    DF: Kim Tae-Young (thus far, post-WC MVP)
    DF: Park Choong-Kyun (only good post-WC newbie)
    DF: Song Chong-Guk (sorry, but D needs your help)
    MF: Yoo Sang-Chul (deserves that armband)
    MF: Kim Nam-Il (surprisingly accurate passing)
    MF: Lee Eul-Young (slow, but passes well)
    MF: Lee Young-Pyo (magnificent skill on ball)
    F: Seol Ki-Hyeon (playmaking ability)
    F: Cha Du-Ri (physically gifted, needs intangibles)
    ST: Lee Chun-Soo (maybe he's a natural winger, but he's also a natural scorer, Korea needs goals, there's no one else, so just put him in; also, he's short so can't do headers, maybe this will teach Korea to use more through passes so they don't rely so heavily on high crosses which limits their creativity)

    Wow. Just came back home and I can't believe what I'm reading right now. Ahn Jung-hwan got a special vacation from military duties and will play against Argentina tomorrow!
    If it's true, all I've got to say is what a horrible decision by Kook-bang-boo. How can a Korean citizen serving 4-week basic training be awarded with 2 day vacation just to play in a FRIENDLY soccer match? Come on, it's not a WC game, it's just a friendly!! Even if Ahn's getting a legitimate day off, the game should be taken as its face value and treated just as another friendly to test new players!!

    this is ludicrous.

    Coelho should NOT PLAY Ahn.

    Ahn obviously lost the touch during his training according to the report below. Even Ahn admits that it's a stretch for him to play now. The report says that Ahn's shots weren't sharp, and his positioning was terrible during practice. Ahn is sooo not ready for ANY game right now.

    http://www.stoo.com/html/stooview/2003/0610/105517191111131100.html

    why can't they just suck it up and test a newbie?

    It seems like even Coelho is skeptical about Ahn playing against Argentina.

    We should start Choi again. This time he will hit many many homeruns for us.

    Ahn hasn't been playing for a week. I doubt he will be fit to play tommorow.

    The fans are all against the idea and KFA's response to the reaction is that they had to call Ahn because there was no one who could take injured Choi YS's place. I think we've tested Ahn long enough. It's time to test new players.

    If Ahn is not in match ready shape, he should definitely not play. At first I was really glad that he was going to play, but if he is out of shape then that is not gonna help the team in any way. It's only a friendly match, like many people have said, so they should test out new players like Cho Jae-Jin, Jung Jo-Guk, or whomever. Oh did Kim Eun-Jung even get any sort of a chance to play for NT again? It's funny that our three biggest stars from U-20 team of 1998, Kim Eun-Jung, Lee Dong-Gook and Kim Yong-Dae are more or less nothing for our NT anymore, whereas the guys who were virtually unheard of back then like Seol and Song are our regulars...

    ???

    If you have cable, you're bound to have Telemundo, especially if you're in the LA area.

    go to tvguide.com or tv.yahoo.com and plug in your cable tv listings.
