    U-23 0 - 1 U-19 (FT)

Kim Dong-hyun (Chung-goo High School) scores the only goal of the match...

Good news for the youths, and bad news for the AG team.

The U-19's weathered some furious attacks by the AG squad, but the youths looked very disciplined and well organized.

The U-19's 4-4-2 was very well matched against the U-23' 3-4-3 and made me wonder sometimes who were the elders.

On the other hand, the AG squad showed that they need serious drilling to even get past the group stage... the defense were very shaky, and the central midfielders too busy chasing balls and contributed very little to any meaningful build-up.

Only about 3 weeks to go, and they have a lot of work to do... if only the beloved KFA could leave the coach in peace...

    Kim Dong-hyun!

On a brighter note, it was great to have witnessed another alternative to the U-19 forward line: Kim Dong-hyun!

This kid has even better build (185cm, 80kg) than Jung Jo-guk, and showed good skills inside the box.

    we're screwed for AG
lee chun soo is way too laid back to be a mid fielder... he thinks he's so cool he's strutting, looking around, poses for the camera, and strutts and passes back to defence... PASS FOWARD U MORON!!!!

i want lee yong pyo back and yoon jung hwan

we gonna get blown by china at this rate

Did you guys watch this on some satellite feed? Are there any links to streaming video of the match?

Lee Chun-soo needs someone to kick his butt and deflate his ego a little bit. Hope that this is a wakeup call for the U23s.

The match was shown in KBS1. I watched the match live through internet feed.

My feelings after the match are very negative as you'd expect. I knew this will happen ever since from the first match Park Hang-Seo played against N. Korea. I could tell we will have no future in U23 this year. We're seriously screwed. On the other hand we do have particularly strong U19 team in our hands, which have shown they have matured even further ever since the match against Argentina. U19 will play Brazil in friendly within next few days. In overall, we are screwed big time -- all thanks to that one man 'The Turtle'.

Seriously, why don't we send U19 instead to AG??? I think they do have serious chance of winning it???

We will perform better once we get our euro-based players join the squad. Plus, if we add 3 wild card players, the team will look much different.
I'm talking about Seol Ki Hyun(23), Song Jong Guk(23), Park Ji-sung(21), Kim NamIl(wild), Kim Tae-young(wild), and Lee YoungPyo(wild).

The question is how cohesive can they play after 4 months.

we only have 1 month I think. And do we really need euro-based players for AG?

Coach Park is in a no-win situation. Lame duck coach, keeping the seat warm for Hiddink. Anything short of winning the Asian Games would be considered a failure. Then people screaming for his head. He will have nightmares about this boy, Kim Dong-hyun.

This dude kind of looks like Cha Boom, come to think about it...

Imagine this: next world cup - Cha Duri and Kim Dong-hyun or Jung Jo-gook on the front line.

I'm very sceptical about this comment. I think the Koreans are sandbagging. When the AG actually comes they'll stop pretending to be crap.

    not pretending...
    its a FACT
name one player that is currently in the AG team (not wild card) that was a solid player in WC2002?
Lee ChunSoo sucks... half of his passes were deflected or goes right to the other team and half of the other half doesnt even find his man, Choi Tae Uk is following Lee's footsteps.. just runs alot.. cant faint a player before he lobs it in the box, Hyun Young Min cant go one on one even if his life depended on it (he even goes back toward the opposite side playing against players 4 years younger.. GROW SOME BALLS)
even Choi Sung Gook and that other guy with the captain band were schooling all the AG members one on one.
All of the defence are new faces and i dunno how good they are yet.. but dont seem too good..
Lee Dong Gook and Kim Eun Joong are only good in domestic leagues sorta like how Shin Tae Yong was and is still great in K-league but sucks in international matches.

on the brighter side.. Park Ji Sung might join.. but i hope he just stays in Japan so he wont be embarassed

the most reason i hate Lee Chun Soo now is when they gave up a goal and Lee started acting like "Oww something is wrong with my foot" and started limping to the sideline so he can get subed... U JUST SUCK

No matter how crap they are, when they play China they will come good for one game. It's always like that and it is bloody annoying

Seriously though. The 'Bad' in Korean standard is probably "mediocore" or even "great" for many Asian national teams. I am not joking, especially after the WC.
