Konrad gets the start to open the league season ... And gets Lausanne's first yellow card of the league season ... And is the first subbed off of the league season. Bryan Okoh on the bench.
Konrad recently switched agencies to Wasserman agency. They also represent Jedi, McKennie, Sargent, and Brendan Aaronsen, among other big name stars. Maybe a transfer is in the works.
Yes. Some local news outlets had quotes from the coach indicating he's out of the picture, and a newly promoted LaLiga 2 team is the recent rumor. Former #USMNT hopeful Konrad de la Fuente is on his way out of Lausanne, and local reports point to him returning to the Spanish LaLiga2 with newly promoted team Cultural Leonesa. https://t.co/NK7kC8Z3Ht— Yanks Abroad (@yanks_abroad) August 26, 2025
With Lausanne having qualified for the Conference League - knocking out Besiktas no less - they'll need plenty of bodies, even if they're only rotators for the domestic league. Not a good sign that he's being let go as soon as it's looking possible/confirmed. The guy has a lot of individual quality but he's not able to do much with it it seems.
24 league appearances out of 38 games last season and he was injured for another 10 matches sounds good, but he made only 4 starts, going 90 in only 1 of them. All told, he played 712 minutes last season or an average of 30 minutes per appearance. Not too bad but not good either
Moves to Spanish 2nd tier: AD CEUTA FC on X: "✍️ Konrad De La Fuente Bienvenido, Konrad https://t.co/1h2toDE9QI #BienvenidoKonradDeLaFuente #HistoriaJuntos #SiempreADCeutaFC ⚪️⚫️ https://t.co/AZ6xUYtZWL" / X
This team plays in Ceuta, an autonomous Spanish city on the North African coast surrounded by Morocco.
Only Akale had a legit excuse in being barely five-foot three inches. Really, really hard when you're that small, KDLF is five-foot eight, which is small for a pro footballer but still competitive.

Played from 68’ on today, in the original pair of substitutions. Mid-table Ceuta held league-leading Cadiz to a 0-0 draw at Cadiz, a positive result.
Konrad scores the matchwinner today - and then sees it overruled by VAR. Came on in the 78th minute and the match ends scoreless. Hope it was briefly fun for him; would have been a breakout moment for him at the new club. Jonathan Gomez subbed on in the 89th for opposing Albacete.

https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/46906722/second-division-match-spain-abandoned-fan-death "The game between Ceuta and Almeria in the second division of the Spanish league was abandoned Sunday after a fan died. Spanish media said a 73-year-old supporter of Ceuta died after falling ill in the stands. The Spanish league confirmed the death."
AD Ceuta sit an impressive 6th in the table after promotion. Punching above their weight. They've made their home ground a fortress going 6-1-1 in matches. That's partly due -I'm sure - to the difficulties of visitors getting to Ceuta which is physically in Africa and has no airport. You have to either ferry in from Algeciras in Spain to Cuerta which is 90 minutes or fly into Tangiers and bus it about 90 miles. Nonetheless, they exceeded expectations and from what gathered Konrad has been a spot starter / super-sub this season as a wingback. Solid contributor from what I've been able to dig up.
Wow, how far away this kid has gone. From Spain, to France and a couple of other countries, before landing on the African continent?
Konrad starts and gets to be the photo as they host Real Valladolid. A win would put Ceuta back in the promotion playoff spots.
