It's not easy to write like that if you're limited to 140 characters.

Edit: Or even in Twitter's recent magnificence, 280.

It struck a chord in part because such involuntary mass migrations still take place, if not often on that scale.

    Good point.

I also have to question how many of the supposedly interested German teams would be willing or able to match that; paying over a half-million-dollar salary to an unproven 18 year old who has never played 1st team football.

And I could understand De la Fuente's impatience if were stalled for a long time at one level in Barça's system. But since he got there hasn't he been steadily progressing through their ranks on an upward trajectory?

I don't know. He's a known quantity in the Barca system. He has a concrete offer on the table, which could put some $2 million in his pocket in three years. (Those figures I saw mentioned earlier were in euros, so, in dollar-terms, that is a fair amount.) If he hangs in there for those three years, he could come out financially secure, and, at that point, he could be a little more risky in his club selection. He'll still only be 21 with decent, if not better, experience from Barcelona. I'd advise him not to overplay his hand right now....

2 million before taxes and agent fees. Dont know spain's tax brackets but he could be losing over half.

Good points. Still, I'd probably advise him to take it. Still has time on his side.

Perhaps Messi could be persuaded to offer tax advice.

Klinnsmann just bought a 23 million € forward.

Does that imply he re-upped with Barca? Or is he just playing out his contract until he can leave on a free?

92nd minute if you don’t want to put in all the time

was playing centrally up high, at least at the end of the game

Will need a lot more of those to make the first team. I just hope he’s continuously getting playing time and showing some improvement.

If he signed a 3 year contract he could be sold in 2 years if he’s not close enough?

Konrad would not even have come on if Hiroki didn't pull his hammy towards the end. Barca B was being out-played for most of the 2nd half and then one great pass over the top to Konrad in stoppage time and he beats two defenders and the keeper for the game winner. It was a pretty impressive run. Transfermarkt has him as a winger but the injury to Hiroki put him at striker and it worked to a tee. Very nice. Thanks for posting bballshawn

Hastily put his jersey on without any warmup as the injured center forward was being carried off in the 80th minute. Definitely not in the plans to play, but it worked out for him. Hopefully the goal leads to more opportunities.
