http://charltonathletic.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=905&p=2&stid=8333015 Sign him! 2 million is an absolute bargain and he loves us. Ziege's career is over, even if he makes a comeback he's into his 30's now and what little pace he had is surely gone now. I liked the guy, but it's time to look to the future. Tanno is not a good enough left back, useful for the squad but we need someone stronger. I don't like digging into the pot for a midfielder, or out of the next manager's transfer fund, but this needs to be done! Saying that though, I'm pretty sure it won't happen, Pleat and the board will p*ss around and then blow all our money on some lightweight like Michael Carrick. I'm sure Southampton will make a move for him seeing as how Le Saux is getting on. Konch has more talent than Bridge, but I'm sure he will pick us over them. No doubt about it.
I can't get the link to work, but 2M pounds sounds like a good deal! I completely agree with Sendorange, Konchesky has the right tools and attitude. He's rarely injured, he's fast, competitive and combative (against the other team), loyal, willing to play whatever role he's given, and an unselfish player. Plus, he's a very good young English player ... what is there not to like!?!? Ziege is injury prone, sometimes unmotivated, and really he's a wingback/midfielder more than a fullback. Konchesky is a traditional fullback, and we sure need one. If Carr moves on, Konchesky will be absolutely vital to have along the back line, as our promising youngsters (Marney, Kelly and Ifil) aren't ready yet. I completely agree about Tano, he's a stopgap, not the answer. If this is the price, and his wage demands are acceptable, then I definitely support this move. -Digital
£2m for a sea shell ?. Now you're board have gone mad. They'll be signing Ciccio Grabbi for £19m next.
